We are not going this Easter though jonny - it's 2012. Will they not roll them out to Gatwick for another year?? Did not even have the games on the last plane we went on.
Plus - and this was a huge disappointment for me - the kids did not get their KiD Bag either. I asked for them and they said they had 'run out and no-one had filled them up'. They were really disappointed, I know it's not much but when you book with an airline because of the little extras, it would be nice if they bothered with them!!!
I have been fawning over the pics of the new plane today on the virgin Facebook page (if anyone is interested) it looks LUSH inside!! If anyone careshttp://www.facebook.com/virginatlantic
To change the subject, would you take a 9 and 10 year old to Las Vegas? Can you take them to the things inside the hotels or are they just for adults? I don't think we would go out after dark but I can imagine it is an amazing place. I am desperately trying to think of what it going to fill that disney 'hole' as we will have a few years off after our next visit and have been looking at pictures of Dubai today - which looks amazing - but I gather it is expensive. And then we started thinking LV has a lot going on, plus we could go up to the Grand Canyon. And then we could 'ahem' drop down to Anaheim for a little Disney fix before flying home.0 -
Hey BM :j
I'll be able to tell you in three months' time
Mine are WDW veterans (I think ten vists now) and are 11 and 14 so happy to share their thoughts with you
ETA My little one didn't get the KiD bag either the last two times. Yes, it's nothing exciting I know, but I agree with you that if promised, it should be delivered. She was disappointed and thus so was I.0 -

My DD was 13 when we took her to Las Vegas in 2009, we spent the first couple of days walking up and down the strip, in and out of all the hotels, during the day and made sure we were back at the hotel before it got dark. As it always takes us a few days to get used to the time difference this wasn't a problem as we all shattered and footsore by late afternoon anyway so going back for a dip in the hotel pool was most welcome. DD loved all the different themes of the hotels, the Bellagio fountains, the lions at MGM etc. We drove out to Red Rock Canyon on the third day and headed out to the Grand Canyon (via the Hoover Dam) after that.
There are a couple of places where you get groups of people handing out 'calling cards' for the 'escorts' (which have the girls photos on) but they are quite easy to spot and avoid. What you can't avoid though are the massive photographic bill boards/trailers which drive up & down the strip all day, and some of the table/pole dancers which are quite close inside the entrance of some of the hotels.
We then drove Rt 66 cross to LA, then down to San Diego for our last few days. (LA was our least favourite place of the trip.)
We spent 5 days at Disneyland last year after being 'stranded' in LA by the volcanic ash cloud at Easter (it was hell).
We liked it very much and, having been to DisneyWorld a few times it was really interesting to see the differences & similarities between the two. But given a few spare days at the end of a holiday we'd spend the time in San Diego or the SoCal beaches over Anaheim, hands down.2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

No, there DLP is operated by a different company so the 2 parks - while having the same theme and Characters have nothing they can give you in the way of loyalty discounts.
You can become a shareholder of WDW but you get no perks at all with those.0 -
Hi Can anyone help with the Orlando park ticket minefield??
We're off to Orlando in November for 2 weeks. There's 6 adults, 3 children (8, 6 & 3) & 2 babies and we've hired a villa in Formosa Gardens.
Now the flights etc are all booked I'm starting to look for park tickets for us all but have no idea where to start - there seems to be so many different combinations!
Can anyone give me an idea of what tickets we'll need to cover most of the parks?
Thank you!0 -
Thanks jackie, that is interested, I guess a road trip would be possible if we hired a car and we did a few days here, there and everywhere.
I run a lingerie store (online) and my kids are nore than used to seeing scantily dressed ladies in their undies in brochures and magazines, as well as on the internet, all over the house (just realised how popular my son will be in his teens, LOL) so I guess the billboards would not be a problem thinking about that side of it.
A road trip is starting to sound more appealing, I have to admit.0 -

We own at OKW and have done for over 15 years, so bought in when DVC was far cheaper and our dues are reasonable, but if I was looking to buy in again now and saw all these offers and the DDP being thrown in for free I'd not bother. If I'd just bought and wasn't getting the same advantages I'd be really angry as it makes it much harder to get to break-even.
I agree tbh, we paid less than £1000 last year for OKW with Free DDP and a studio was even less, £750 for a week - and with booking on the website, the commitment does not have to be there.
I thin they use it to fill the parks at the quieter times of year - and so many other places do the same thing by offering discounts, but if you only want to go off peak with your points I can imagine how annyed you'd be.
I called RCI yesterday to get an ongoing search started for the DVC properties for our trip so will let you know where we are staying when we get the offer. They have BLT, BCV and BWV so hoping for one of those, but realised they put us down to a hotel so have to change that, I'll not stay in a hotel again. If we do not manage to get anything from Disney then we'll get the kids an AP so that we can get the free parking and then stay at the Wyndham in Bonnet Creek (is this where you stayed last time we spoke Viv?) and the Hilton on ID and drive to and from the Disney parks.0 -
