  • What's the V Room? is it Virgin's lounge? Is it because you need a quiet area for DS that it's important to you?

i'm sure know all the strategies, but just in case thought I'd mention the Disney GAC card, which would allow you to wait out the queue time somewhere quiet too?

Blue, don't spend £800 just to get the V Room, it's good but not that good ;)

Would the No 1 Lounge, right next door to the V Room, be a reasonable alternative? I think there is a minimum age limit but we've taken our kids in here and didn't feel out of place.

I've got the same problem with VH vouchers - I have nearly £2k of the wretched things, and the prices are SO expensive compared with DIY I almost feel like I'm paying just to use them. I have to decide and book soon though or they are going to expire!

I will also mention that we found February relatively busy - be aware of Spring Break which really impacts crowd levels. We went in Feb Half Term 2010 and I was surprised by how busy it was (compared with August), though it wasn't as bad as Xmas or Easter.

Vroom is an airport lounge in south terminal at LGW just for virgin holidays customers.

Oh, my kids LOVED the v-room, DS was in there for 2 hours jumping all over those soft play things and he made a pal too. It amde such a nice start to the holiday. I am just trying to negotiate things now - which is the better option.

I looked and saw the 1 lounge, it did not give any information other than it was for their upper class customers - or maybe I read that wrong but I did not think anyone could use it. Do you have to pay maybe?

We have been in Feb before, coming home in the Half Term and it was quiet when we was there. Chilly but bearable - the same as the latter week of November we were there. We found the weekends busy - there was a boxing tournament on at the Convention Centre and a lot of the boxers and their families were staying in our hotel. Don King was there but we never saw him. It was only the Radisson too, nothing special. but it was busy while they were were. I can find out the exact dates of Spring Break but I thought it was mid March..... I've been told to avoid Spring Break so I would not really consider Easter.

Right, I must get all of these ideas out of my head. Hubby just came down (he is laid up after an op - hence my spare time browsing) and I told him about the holiday and he said about school too. It would only be a for a week this time.

    Decisions, decisions......

V room is fantastic if you have young children, my daughter spent ages in the soft play area so was able to waste some energy pre flight.certainly makes a huge difference from having to constantly stop her running off like in Miami where she ran down jet bridge toward BA flight, trouble was we were on the later VS flight!

Got vroom as part of package but I would probably pay for it anyway as it is so much more relaxing than the south terminal main dep lounge.

Thing is though Johnny, you can only get is as part of Virgin Holidays package and here are the prices:

VA flights are £1600 +miles (£1800 without FC so still a good price)

VH Fly Drive price with the exact same flight is £2296 WITHOUT taking the car. However, this would enable me to use the V-room. If I could get a discount on this for being in FC it would be helpful.

I can get a VH non-discounted package for £2600 and then I have £800 of Tesco deals vouchers I could use on that so I'd only have to 'pay' £1800 and I could use the V-room, twighlight check in and Downtown Disney Check in.

Question is - do I sacrifice my Tesco vouchers just to go into the V-room.....

When you look at it like that then no
I would not sacrifice £800 tesco vouchers just to get vhols price down to similar as just flights so you can use vroom.

Would your little one be able to cope in main terminal with all the hustle and bustle?
