Do any of you old time Disney'ers know if you can have a renewal of vows for your anniversary at Disney or do they just do weddings? Ta.
  • Hi folks I have been to florida before but it was 20 years ago! We stayed on international drive.

We have booked to go this year for the 1st two weeks in June, as we now have 3 kids we decided to go for a villa. This will give us the space we need etc.

Having never done a villa before I wonder if some of u guys can give me a little info.

Will we need to heat the pool at the villa or should it be warm enough in June.

Are towels provided? Don't want to take them with us if there will be a supply there.

Any other hints or tips would be also be appreciated.

Anybody? we need to pre book pool heating so would appreciate any input.

    Thanks

Hi, sorry, I do not stay in villas so I am not sure. There are lots of people who know about villas over on The Dibb so you might get more help over there. The people that are usually lurking on this thread are usually booking their first trip or usually stay in suites, studios or apartments so this is why you have not got a reply yet. Here is the link to the forums over there - they will definatley be able to help you there.

I think in June you'd be all right without it - but it kind of depends on your tolerance for water.

Personally, I wouldn't pay to heat the pool in June.

Do you know where I go to look for advice on it please Karen? I was ill for my wedding and had just come out of hospital after a serious op, so it would be nice to go back and renew there, even if it turns out to be just the 4 of us :D

Ah, bless you. I think it would be a wonderful idea. I think the Dibb's wedding section is the best place to look - I found a thread on there that would be a great starting point:

Hi blue, vow renewal is handled by Disney weddings, here's a link to their website:

    http://disneyweddings.disney.go.com/

Also, although its not a new article, there's an account of vow renewal at WDW on Passporter:

Funnily enough, its something we've considered too! We ended up buying more DVC points instead:o but it's a lovely idea.

Didn't reply earlier because it's kinda individual. We have been several times in June to villas and have had trips with and without pool heating. The temperature in June can be variable- we have had trips when we wish we had a nice cool pool for an afternoon dip - the temperature being in the 90's. On the other hand we have opted for no pool heat and would have loved a warm early morning dip or a late evening relax in the pool when the temperature outside was in the low 70's. Also if your villa has a hot tub then SOMETIMES the heating is combined and a cool hot tub is no fun at all. As I said individual, but I WOULD go for it - def if there is a hot tub. Some of my favourite evenings after a hectic theme park day have involved hot tub, wine and a great view of the distant
    Disney fireworks!

Forgot to add - towels are provided - usually loads!

I agree it doesn't seem great for indirect flights - I had mistakenly assumed they were direct (hence the edit!!!!). Cheapest direct flights I can find seem to be more around the £1900 mark - if I could find them for £1400 I would book them immediately!!!! Can you let me know where you can find flights that cheap?

You'd be very lucky to get direct flights for anything less than about £650 this year - Prices are very high, and the lowest is around £525 for indirect via Charlotte...

Have you considered a Villa instead, as the additional privacy, and added bonus of a pool, could make it nicer IMHO...
