No worries mysparrow.
Tbh, it would not be worth spending it on the counter food as it is pretty crumby to eat twice a day (it's cheap for a reason!!) here is some gumpf on the dining plan and where you can eat: http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-dining-plan.htm We stayed in AKL for a night and tried to get into Boma but there was a 3 hour wait for a table - as you have older boys eating late may not be as much as an issue for you so you might want to chance it but with little ones we have to eat around 5pm.
However, I am sad enough to have started a planner.....!! As an exmaple of planning meals - If you eat at the Brown Derby or Hollywood Vine & Dine (plus one other restaurant, I cannot remember the name of it) you can get priority seating for Fantasimic (not to be missed) in MGM (when did it become Hollywood Studios BTW?), another meal before Fireworks at Epcot, another before Wishes. You realise that there will be some nights that you are going to be able to plan and then do other things on the other days.
It does sound daft but you really do need to look at the Disney site and brochures and plan what you want to do before you go and have some sort of itinery as there is s o much to do. Our hotel change days will be our R&R days by the pool while we wait to check in (although one of the nights we are going to the Halloween party in the evening, LOL).0 -
What dates are you looking at travelling - or what week do you want to be away (half term?), lookingforadeal, and how many people and flying from where. Where do you want to stay and for how many nights?
Give me as many details as poss and I'll have a look later on tonight for you and see what I come up with price wise. Where have you been looking out of interest? And no, the TA has to make some money so I'll be *very surprised* if they come up with a cheaper price than you can book yourself online.0 -
Back again looking for some more info on Florida, I have already posted car or transfers earlier, We have decided on a car, what I would like to know is it possible to hire a car anywhere without a credit card?, it`s something I don`t need or want, but I don`t want to take out a card just for the sake of getting a car for a fortnight, any info would be great thanks.0

That would be great, thanks. We can travel any time from Easter to end of May - just trying to avoid school holidays while we still can! 2 adults and a little one for 14 nts, staying close to Disney, self catering but in a Disney hotel - idealy somewhere with a seperate bedroom, if not 2. All from Manchester.
I've been basing my flight search on skyscanner.0 -

What price have you been getting?
Easter Holiday is late this year so kids will be going back after the May bank holiday. I have to say that a lot of the flights out of Manachest never seem to be 14 nights for some reason, it'll be 13 or 15 nights.
Virgin Fly Drive on 4th May, returning on 19th May is £1885.50 for 2 adults and a 4 year old. You would then be free to book your own hotel.
It is slightly cheaper to fly from Gatwick.
I have looked at Fly Drive for 14 nights and there are loads available for 4th, but nothing from Manchester for a package for 14 nights if booking accomodation too. Which indicates there is no allocation of accomodation.
If you fly on 9th May for 2 weeks this would avoid the Easter and Half Term holidays, if you want a cheap hotel you can choose the cheapest which is Ramada Maingate West and the price is £2223. of course, if your LO is under 2 it would cost less.
Are you going to be driving? If not the Radisson at Celebration is on the 192 and is the last bus stop before World Drive that takes you into the Transportation Centre which is where everyone goes to get the monorail over to MK.
Of course, if you want a different hotel then just say and I'll dig some more but there are certainly flights on the 9th for 14 nights out of Manchester.0 -

Not sure if this would be of interest to you but on the DISS boards you can team up with others and share a boat to see Wishes. The pontoon boats moor in a great spot on the lake and the view is spectacular. We loved it.
We also ate at Boma, and did the priority seating at Hollywood and Vine.0 -
Hi, this is my first post, so please be gentle.
Hoping to book to orlando from 31st march-14 april 2011. Taking my partner and our 8yr old son so want to do disney, universal etc... Had quote of £2100 for 14nts staying at comfort inn, flying direct with no car, does this sound good?
Or would it be better to book hotel, flights separately? Also had quote of £3200 staying at Best Western Lakeside flying with virgin, this also includes car hire and full insurance.
Ideally would like to stay in disney hotel for a week and then maybe a universal hotel for a week. Can anyone advise?
regards, Callum:)0 -
Hi again,
Best price I can find Discovery Cove inc swim for is £129 - has anybody done any better than this price?
Also, we want to do Universal (all 3 parts) which I have found for £107 each which is for a 14 day pass. We only need a 3 day pass really is the 14 days the standard offering or can you save money by doing less days?
Also, does our choice of hotel make any difference? Someone mentioned earlier it is an advantage to stay at a Universal hotel but would that still be the case if we already have tickets?0
