Thanks FloFlo - I'm actually looking at this August rather than next August!!

Checked out Virgin this morning I thought - but they seemed considerably more than First Choice - will check now...yes it's about £2.5k more.

Maybe I should be booking for next year rather than this ;o)

Actually the price has come down by £70 per person over the last two days...wonder how much further it has to go? Eeek!

Oh sorry I have been looking at next years prices.

i took advantage of the frequent virgin 15% discount when booking orlando for next year plus free car upgrade, unfortunately the offer finished on june 8th apparently so normal discounts resumed.

As far as I know its been extended until 30th June.
  • Hi all. Me, the wife and 3 kids are off to Florida in less than three weeks and are very excited. Now im hoping on some of your experience if youve been before because im ensure of the options of keeping in touch in the parks if we split up to say go on different rides. Unsure of the mobile phone options. Ive got an iphone with o2 and the wife has an LG Tocco with Three. Both my girls have pay as you go alcatel phones with Orange:spin:. Has anyone used the radios? What type and what range? Also i know they use a different band so have to be bought out there so is that hassle? Has anyone tried renting phones which i have seen advertised on the net for £2 per day?... Soooo many questions....lol

same as me we went first time this year and have since booked for next year already.
booked for september but chose a villa instead of hotel this time so august will be on sale, have a look on virgin site for ideas of costs for the weeks you want.also in my opinion best booking early as very popular and flights get booked quick and go up in price

My wife hates flying and also doesnt like the heat, so I have always just taken the kids. She likes us to keep in touch so I phoned every night. Paid about $30 last year for a phone which included enough credit to call the UK for about 4 hours.
It will be quite cheap for you to just buy some US phones when over there and use them.

heading to Florida in 3 weeks for first time. have hired a basic car through my package with Virgin.

Didnt take any of their insurance re car as i was going to book this on my own via the internet.
Is that ok? Also will there be any additional charges to pay when we collect the car?
Ive heard there may be state taxes?
