Hi all wonder if anyone can give me some advice ... Was at Florida a dozen or so years ago and am going back next year ... I'm currently trying to plan the finances ... We arnt going to do Disney world next time but will be doing M.G.M ... Blizzard beach... Animal kingdom ... Universal.... Universal islands of adventure... Busch gardens ( sadly not sea world which I love ... But couldn't enjoy it with a clear concious) ... Will it be cheaper buying a 14 day Disney pass and a universal pass (7 days I think I saw it for) or would I be better off buying at each park on the day ? Roughly how much can I expect to pay ( tried the link but I can't get it to work)

How much can I expect to pay for car hire per week ( just hubby and me going but I do want some room) what is an esta ? I was used to filling in a form online before ... Do I need a new passport ?

Sorry for so many questions it's just been so long since I went and I need to start now to get organised in time

    Thanks in advance

Last year I went last week of August and 1st week of September and we found the crowds at Disney really manageable. The American children went back to school at the end of August and the crowds dropped off even more after that.

Sorry forgot to add - weather was lovely! Lots of sunscreen needed, shorts and sleeveless T-shirts.

Extremely hot and humid, but as Lex says the crowds pretty manageable after mid August.

It's really nice in the evenings as it's still lovely and balmy :)

Many people find August too hot but within the constraints of the school holidays it's probably our favourite time to go.

There is usually an afternoon thunderstrom (doesn't last long) which provides some welcome relief. There's nothing like the sight of steaming rain :D

    Hi

    I'm a bit confused, sorry :o

You don't want to do Disney World but you do want to do Animal Kingdom, MGM & Blizzard Beach - they are all Disney World. I'm guessing you mean you don't want to do Magic Kingdom? I would look into the Magic Your Way passes. I don't think I'd want to shell out all that money for a 14 day pass and only use it at a few Disney parks, personally, but you have to do the matchs and see which comes out best.

They are phasing out the old green forms which you had to fill out on the plane - Orlando airport is stopping needing those literally any day now. ESTA you have to do online (very quick and easy, basically what you used to fill out on the green form), before you go. It is FREE so do not pay - there are some sites out there which try and scam you.

I don't want to start a debate, but I'm struggling to understand why you'd not go to Seaworld if you love it but you would go to Animal Kingdom and Busch Gardens.

Yeah, I was going to say the same, why do AK and Busch if you feel guilty about Seaworld? It's just an underwater zoo. I got 3 for 2 on my park tickets Seaworld/Aquatica/Busch from Virgin but having looked at the park plan we'll not be able to do the big rides at Busch so we are going to give that a miss this time. It's a long way to go for a zoo and pretty much the same as they have at AK.
