Anybody know which type of aircraft Thomson use from Manchester to Sanford? Is the configuration 2-3-2 or 2-4-2?
Also if anyone has any experience of using Carhire3000. Ive seen a Dodge Charger for £250 including all taxes, insurance bar the cost of a tank of fuel.
One last question for now lol. Do the Universal Parks use a fastpass system similar to Disney's? If so is it free?
To answer your last question, Universal do have a fastpass system, but you have to pay for it. From memory it's about $30 for an adult ticket and I think it only gets you on each ride once, although don't quote me on that! Depending on what time of year you are going, you may not need it. We went in September a couple of years ago and walked straight on pretty much every ride. May be a bit different now Harry Potter has opened though.0 -
Do you still have these tickets, i am due to go in sept:A click the THANK YOU button if you think i have helped :A0

We probably have to pay this because we have exchanged with RCI then - you are DVC members and probably pay for it in your annual maint fees, we aren't, we got the weeks through the 'bank'.
I've heard about the boat and yes, that is on our list. As is going up to the Boardwalk one evening. I gather you can see the Epcot fireworks from the Boardwalk too.0 -
Wow, am totally overwhelmed with this thread! We're hoping to go to Disney late July/early August for 10/14 days from Manchester or Newcastle and we REALLY want to stay on the resort with it being our first (and possibly only) time. We have two kids 13 & 6 and want to visit every possibly park/attraction while we're there, I can find flights for approx £600 each but am then lost on dining plans and tickets and goes without saying I would not like to pay over the odds... what sort of budget do u guys reckon I should be working with? Any tips for bargain resort hotels/tickets/food?? Thanks in advance!0

Who have you found flights with laragh?
Where do you want to stay?
Are you going to be driving?
Do you want the Disney Dining plan?
I got mine from Virgin Holidays who give 10% discount, you can get a 'fly drive' without accomodation from them (which costs more than booking it direct) and you can get 10% off your tickets and flight cost, although you do have to pay £30 for a car. I also got the harry Potter breakfast and some deals on tickets by doing it this way too. Let us know your plans and we can help you some more.
You may also be able to get a disney resort with dining plan for free for around £1000 per week if this is of interest, but it would be a self catering apartment (they call it a villa) rather than a hotel room. It depends if you have a love of Disney or not really as to whether you want to spend that much as you can of course get much cheaper.
ETA after checking:
Disney Old Key West with free mid range dining plan: £945 1 bed apartment in Aug: http://wdtc.disneyinternational.com/Select-Rooms.asp?ID=5502&Offset=5
Disney Saratoga Springs free mid range dining plan: £945 in Aug: http://wdtc.disneyinternational.com/Select-Rooms.asp?ID=5506&Offset=5
These apartments are cheaper than a 'value' hotel room in Disney and you get the added extra of the free dining plan.
Also: Port orleans - room with free counter service dining plan £700: http://wdtc.disneyinternational.com/Select-Rooms.asp?ID=7504&Offset=50 -

there would be the three of us going - me, hubby and daughter. Budget is flexible, although we are thinking approx £3k for flights and accommodation and car hire. My instinct is not to bother with a disney hotel, but not sure what I would be missing out on! I think on balance that an apartment for the orlando part would suit us best.
Thanks for your thoughts and experiences with your LO. If we go it wouldn't only be for disney, that would just be a small part of the holiday, but an exciting part! Lots to think about and research - thanks again.
I'd recommend this video for the little one to watch before you go.

After watching that hundreds of times you'll be singing and dancing down Main Street when you go
It was filmed in Disney California in 1990 and some things are different or no longer there but my daughter, now 19, loved the video as a youngster long before we went to Florida.
If I can find my copy I'll let you know but meantime you can catch some of it rather badly on You Tube but I think it would get little ones used to the idea of the characters.

We don't want to drive really thus easy option of staying on the resort but we want the facility to go to all parks etc. Am quite happy to self cater but if can get a good dining plan I'm all for ease esp when on holiday... Flights are from Manchester for £566 or Newcastle for £690 but would go from Manchester for that price difference. I think inclusive tickets are about £200 each is that right? It looks as though people have very different experiences at the resort hotels ie all star compared to the higher quality ones...0
