Who have you found flights with laragh?

Where do you want to stay?

Are you going to be driving?

Do you want the Disney Dining plan?

I got mine from Virgin Holidays who give 10% discount, you can get a 'fly drive' without accomodation from them (which costs more than booking it direct) and you can get 10% off your tickets and flight cost, although you do have to pay £30 for a car. I also got the harry Potter breakfast and some deals on tickets by doing it this way too. Let us know your plans and we can help you some more.

You may also be able to get a disney resort with dining plan for free for around £1000 per week if this is of interest, but it would be a self catering apartment (they call it a villa) rather than a hotel room. It depends if you have a love of Disney or not really as to whether you want to spend that much as you can of course get much cheaper.

    ETA after checking:

Disney Old Key West with free mid range dining plan: £945 1 bed apartment in Aug: http://wdtc.disneyinternational.com/Select-Rooms.asp?ID=5502&Offset=5

Disney Saratoga Springs free mid range dining plan: £945 in Aug: http://wdtc.disneyinternational.com/Select-Rooms.asp?ID=5506&Offset=5

These apartments are cheaper than a 'value' hotel room in Disney and you get the added extra of the free dining plan.

Also: Port orleans - room with free counter service dining plan £700: http://wdtc.disneyinternational.com/Select-Rooms.asp?ID=7504&Offset=5
Can only get £1800 option for Old Key West how do I get to the option? Is that the privately owned ones?

To answer your last question, Universal do have a fastpass system, but you have to pay for it. From memory it's about $30 for an adult ticket and I think it only gets you on each ride once, although don't quote me on that! Depending on what time of year you are going, you may not need it. We went in September a couple of years ago and walked straight on pretty much every ride. May be a bit different now Harry Potter has opened though.

1 Harry P not open until 18th June.
2 Fastpass = One at a time - you can ride any ride multi times but you cannot get the second until you use the first fastpass.
3 Fastpass free if you stay in a Universal Studios Hotel - so if you are don't waste money buying it too!
4.It does still depend on when you go - school hols (either Fl or UK) are always busy.

Have seen people on The Dibb mentioning about how good the HP rides are. Is this open for some already?

Can you tell me the dates you are wanting to travel. I searched for 7 nights 8th - 15th August and it was coming up £945 with free dining. With the luxury resorts you get one counter meal, one snack (might be 2) and one table service meal. You can use 2 table service meals to 'pay' for one character meal. You get the meals on a card and hand the card over, you are not limited to when you use them as long as you use them during your stay.

Back to these villa resorts though. They are not privately owed, they are Deluxe Disney resorts, called villas but they are apartments with seperate bedrooms, bathrooms, living room and kitchen. They are owned by DVC - Disney Vacation Club - you can buy a 'timeshare' with Disney and pay a fee and then an annual fee, or you can look in the brochure and pay the usual price. It is a way of regular visitors to Disney to buy a piece of the Magic :D Do not be put off, you are not going to be harrassed by timeshare sellers or anything, it is just a normal break but in a higher class of accomodation.

We have a timeshare elsewhere and have put our 'week' into a 'bank' with a company called RCI, we can then choose other weeks that have been put in the bank and we are going to AKV for £175. However, usual price is around £3500 to choose it from the brochure and buy. This is how it works with these resorts. The person who has the accomodation has already paid DVC this year.

They seem to have some resorts on special which indicates that they have not had people coming back this year, however, they still have their annual fees to pay but DVC will let the apartment out instead and get extra money - this is why they are on special offer.

ETA: Are you talking about this year or next year, I assumed this year?

    Point 2-
Happy to be corrected but I didn't think Universal did their Fast pass anymore unless you pay for it, or are staying at an onsite hotel?

Highly recommend staying at an onsite hotel for one night to get two days free FOTL - often works out as cheap as paying for the FPs if you go for that option :)

Plus the onsite hotels are fantastically located and jolly nice

    WOW.

WE are going in October but not going to Universal because of the cost but at least Virgin are honouring those that are going now.

laragh, go to the virgin atlantic website, find out which dates are cheapest to fly.

The go to the virgin holidays website and put that date in and choose 'fly drive'.

When it comes to choosing insurance, choose 3rd party and the price is 0.00, do not upgrade the car.

Then on the screen for parks you can choose a 3 for 2 on Busche/Seaworld/Aquatica with free shuttle bus.

At the end you'll get 10% discount on the screen price.

You'll pay £30 for the car but you'll get 10% off the total price. You can also get 4% back on Quidco.

See what the price comes in at and go from there with flights.

ETA: Wow, it looks there are a lot of fully booked flights, you'll have to play around with dates, I've tried some but some dates are not even available.

I know, we was going to go in May but there was no official opening date given. I feel a bit gutted now.

However, we are going in October too. When are you going??
