Hi Karen G and Chickie123
Thanks for your replies! I did mean £600 converted in deals, not £2400 (I wish!). You've confirmed what I assumed Karen, that it would not make it any cheaper using these so I'll have to find some other use for them. Thanks for advice regarding the car and the insurance. Will def not leave it till we get there then!!
Thanks for website address chickie123, I will check that one out. We flew with BA too and we were impressed. Have done a long flight with Thomsonfly int he past and the BA one was far superior so will try to get flight with them again but it all depends on the price really.
Right, I can get on with some more research now, feel a bit more confident about the insurance issue! Thanks again - I'll be back no doubt with more questions soon!! xx0 -
Hi Kerrymay. So glad to hear you enjoyed yourself. But it is kinda catching!!!
As to flights we have found BA better now than Virgin. But if you can wait until the last minute TUI flights [Thompson/ First Choice] do great edeals for last minute flights.
Villa's, We use http://www.lastminutevillas.net/ or the Dibb. But Ebay now seems a place to use not that I ever have.
Altho I dislike the Dibb [mainly because of its size and some idiots on there] you can get some good villas on there. Dont think I would ever use a company to book a villa anymore.
Cars http://www.usrentacar.co.uk/ usually come out the best for us [and have tried many].
Read the first page of this thread and it will give you hours of fun searching for the good deals. Plenty plenty sites to look at!!:TBe ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
hi could anyone tell me if photocopies of passports & driving licence are accepted as ID for tickets etc please
Also, do taxis have child car seats or will they carry your children without them? (age 3 & 8)
And I'm overwhelmed by all the shopping malls in Orlando! where would people recommend best for Disney/Nickelodeon bargains & adult & kids clothes? (not top designer but well known brands)
we will be staying at Disney world without car.
Thanks0 -

Also my mum was one of the 4 so she had plenty of her own. I suppose we must have had at least £1500.
Exchange rate was a little higher so you may need a bit more.0 -

(Sorry I can't help with the car seat question)
In my opinion the best place for shopping for clothes would be the outlets instead of the malls, a lot of the malls are very upmarket and expensive (that's just my opinion though, I'm sure others would disagree). Have a look at Prime Outlets and Premium Outlets online for their list of stores. Many of the souvenir shops and even Walmart will sell Disney merchandise for ALOT less than in the parks! HTH a bit!0 -

Thanks
If I was going to one shopping destination only and staying at WDW without a car, I would go to Premium Outlets. You can get a Disney bus to Downtown Disney (free) and then pick up a taxi there. Going to Downtown Disney makes you closer to Premium and will reduce the taxi fare.
It's probably only a couple of miles (if that) but I don't recommend you try and walk it.
There is a Disney Outlet store at Premium and you will absolutely pick up bargains there. Also Walmart / Target (if you can get there) sell loads of Disney themed towels/T shirts/stuff much cheaper than Disney.
I also like Prime Outlets but it's not as close to WDW.0 -

Really hard to answer. How many in your party? Have you bought tickets? Have you prepaid or have the free dining plan? Are you staying onsite with no car (less cheap options potentially) or offsite?
For us, we have done it on a budget of $100 per day (food, drinks, the odd souvineer) - 2 adults and 2 children. I wouldn't like to try it on less than that to be honest.0 -
Hello everyone,
We returned from Florida mid March and I had a lot of help from people on here regarding my trip. We are itching to go back and think we might be able to scrape enough together to go next October - as long as we eat Value everything and deny all treats from now to then anyway!!
Having been there now I feel quite confident in booking everything separately - flights, villa, car hire, park tickets - if it means we will save some money - so my query is as to whether people find it is cheaper to do it this way? Can you just hire a car from the airport on arrival and would this be cheaper for instance? I am a bit confused as to what level of insurance I would need if I sorted this one out myself though. I looked on the website of one company and a higher level of insurance can add as much as £300 onto the cost of the car - where could I find out more information as to what is really required? This is something we let the travel agent take care of last time and I believe we paid for the highest insurance on offer.
To confuse matters, I have £600 worth of Tesco deal tokens that I could use if I booked it through Virgin or Cosmos - would this make it cheaper to do it this way, or would I still be better off doing it separately? I would usually use the deals tokens over the six weeks hols for the kids days out, but would save them towards the cost of the hols if this is the best option?
Any help much appreciated - I like to plan in advance!! I would ask my other half his opinion but he's watching the FA semi-cup final and can't possibly be disturbed! !xx
It will be our 3rd time in June and every time I spend months researching online to do DIY. Every time I have found that a package with travel city direct could not be beaten by DIY. We have 2 weeks in 4 bed exec villa from Manchester for 4 adults 1 child 2 infants and have paid £3287 in total and that includes a free upgrade to a SUV. DIY price didn't come close for us. But of course will still try again next time!!!!!0
