Gin, twins - brilliant news - double congratulations! :T:TMurray, do you temp? On those shorter cycles, do you think you ov'd?
I don't temp - I did CBFM for a while but I ov'd so regularly that I stopped and just use it to keep track of cd's now. Mine must the the worlds most overpriced glorified calendar!! I probably need to start using it again because it is odd to have such different cycle lengths. I just got to the stage where I begrudged its expensive stick habit for the fat lot of good its done me! As a lady who has tried both methods, which do you prefer?staffiecat wrote: »Murray, have you had any other tests done? Hope the doc helps!
I've had the day 21 blood tests, all normal. I've had the dildo cam and they found a big cyst on one ovary. I had surgery to remove that (the cyst, thankfully the ovary is fine) and the dye test to make sure my tubes are patent which they are. They did find tiny amounts of endometriosis but not even enough that I have any external symptoms. Next stop is referral for IVF in the new year if no bfp before then but it seems like such a drastic step when we dont even know what (if anything) is wrong
Thanks for the support people, I'm sorry to sound off0 -
Hi everyone
back from sunny Portugal.. nil to report! I think I'm about cd12 ish, but I forgot to take my thermometer with me, so I'm not certain. And I deliberately didn't use OPKs this month.
And look what happens when I go away!! CONGRATULATIONS to Sexkitten and to Gin (twins?!!!)Am so happy for you both!!
Murray - I used to use Persona to keep track of ovulation, it's similar to CBFM I think, but worked really well for me. Now though, I just temp - I find it's very reliable, and it's cheap!

Have they rulled out PCOS. I only ask because I have borderline PCOS (and they are checking for endo) but my cycles can vary from 24 to 36 days. They are usually between 30 to 33 days but every 3 - 4 months and I will have an odd month with either very short cycle or very long cycle. The other thing that has started to happen is that my cycle will last 2 days then nothing for 2 days and then .. TMI ALERT ... i will have gunky dark brown 'bleed' for 3-4 days. Its very odd, it makes me feel really old actually !!
I know what you mean about IVF feeling like a drastic step, if we don't have any success in the next 4/5 months then we will be referred too. I know its time but I just wish they could nail it on the head with whats wrong with me, fix it and give us a good shot at falling naturally.
Chin up honey

The thing with IVF, it's both treatment and (often) diagnosis. They could never find anything wrong with me. My hormones are fine, AMH OK, a lap and dye showed my tubes and whatnot to be totally normal, husband's sperm is fine. But still I didn't fall pregnant.
My problem is egg quality, and unless you actually embark on IVF you'll never find that out. It's miserable to think that you'll try and try and get no nearer to conceiving. Don't be scared of IVF. It's OK and if it's your only chance, believe me, it's more than OK. It's bloody wonderful!"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

ME TOO!! Except for me its 2 days of dk. brown, 1-2 days red bleeding and about 3-4 days of brown afterwards (but less of it)...sorry if any of you lot were just about to eat before reading that!!
They are going to redo the 21 day bloods this cycle to see if my hormone levels are still ok with the possibility of a rescan to check the follicle development next cycle becuase the cyst was in the way last time.
She said that they'd also look at chlomid for the next cycle but someone has mentioned to me that I shouldnt have chlomid becuase I've had an ovarian cyst so that needs a bit more research.
All in all, I'm a bit more satisfied...much happier with the smaller steps than the (seemingly) giant leap to IVF.fluffnutter wrote: »The thing with IVF, it's both treatment and (often) diagnosis. Thank you, that's very sensible advice (from one who's hormones must be raging!). I'll be much happier to move on I think once I am satisfied that no more can be done to find out why it isnt happening naturally for us. I hope you're getting on well and that the anxiety levels are dropping x

As a lady who has tried both methods, which do you prefer?
I do IC OPKs too:cool:
Another possible problem for us ladies is when one releases the egg, whether it is caught by the fallopian tube or not. That's something no-one can diagnose yet.
I'm hoping losing some weight around my middle will sort it:o0 -
ME TOO!!
OMG well that makes us strange cycle buddies
Make sure to tell your consultant about your cycles, I kept telling mine that the bleed was changing and becoming brown etc but they didn't seemed concerned.
On my last visit to see a different consultant he said that this plus some pain that I get in my sides could be a sign of endometriosis. He suggested that it could be taking a while for my body to go through the cycle and therefore the colour change signifies that its old blood. If that makes any sense whatsoever !! He also counted my cycle as the first day of the real bleed up to the last day of the brown.
Anyway, sorry for TMI stuff above, its put me off my breakfast now
Hope everyone is doing good, I am heading in for my op on Monday so please keep your fingers crossed that they find the 'problem' and 'fix' me0 -
Good luck for the lap next week staffiecat. I also get brown blood prior to proper AF.
I am 10dpiui and hoping I won't have to go in for a laparoscopy. And if I do I want it ASAP - but with the NHS that might not happen.Deposit savings £8,000/£25,000£14,000 by 31/12/110 -
Thanks CCM - btw my appt for the lap came within 6 weeks and its on the NHS ! I thought it would take 4/5 months on the NHS but was really quick!
Good luck with the IUI, hopefully you won't need the lap at all0 -
