    How're you feeling Gin?

Cd3 here.. Have arranged a referral to Cardiff to discuss timed IUI. As some of you may know, DH works away Mon-Fri, and although he comes home when I need him to ;) I'm wondering if we're just a timing issue. I temp, and do OPKs but you never know for certain I guess. So a monitored unmedicated cycle might be just the job.. I can cope with that level of intervention :) Plus am now taking DHEA (Thanks Lilo!) in a addition to all of the others. Not out just yet!

    xx

  • Wow, I don't log in for a couple of days and it's all happening!!

It was great to see the CB result Gin. Amazing news.

SK - I remember vividly the same wait to see how many fertilised. Remember, you've done everything you can and so try to relax as much as possible. We're keeping everything crossed for you.
  • Good luck SK, xx

I am ok. Still no symptoms. Went to my Slimming world last night, and told the consultant that I am pregnant. So now she will bring me the leaflet and I will need to get the midwife's approval to keep coming (once I see her!!!). I am not really following the diet meticulously, but it helps me to stay away from he chocolates (apart from half a tub of Hagen Daz ice cream last night, as it was on offer in Asda).

The doctor didn't call back yesterday, so now I have to wait till tomorrow to find out when the scan is going to be...

Kitten, I only had 3 eggs my first time and 1 that fertilised, I will keep everything crossed for you that you get at least 2 good ones to put back in.

Gin, hope you are still taking it easy and get a call soon for your scan.

    Good luck everyone else.

  • Hi

Really hope this is in the right thread. I have a couple of questions. Me and my wife have been married for 7 years and been trying for the last 4 years. I keep saying to my wife lets goto the doctors but she is scared of them so will not go for tests. I was wondering what sort of tests do they do and if anyone knows of any websites so i can reassure her everything will be fine. Since she has first started her periods they have never been regular. Sometimes she might have 2 a month then sometimes not have any for 3 -4 months. Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thankyou
    Ryan :)

hi ryan, welcome, i don't know that i can answer all your questions, but my husband and i have been trying for 5 years now, and went to the doctor about 2 1/2 years ago first, i have 2 teenagers from a previous relationship so i may not have had as many tests as some, but on our first visit we just had a chat with the doctor, then it was arranged for me to have blood tests on certain dates to check my hormone levels, and my husband did a sperm sample which i took to the lab to be tested, i believe i had an internal scan as well whats known on here as a "Dildo cam" which was not painful, then my results came back ok and hubby had a very low count, so i had no further tests, but i believe if the sperm factor is ok, your wifes tubes will be checked, but someone else on here will be able to tell you more about that. we were then refered for ICSI, but there may be other options before that for you especially if it is a hormone problem, my hubby had not been to the doctor for over 10 years before this as he hates them, but he realised that if he wanted a baby it was the only option.

i hope this helps, the first appointment are really not bad at all, and you may find its something that can be easily overcome, i hope your wife can overcome her fears, if i can be of any more help feel free to ask xx

Hi Ryan, I think the Dr will just suggest blood tests at first to check hormones and to check she is ovulating. Try and get to go one step at a time, it's daunting but if you really want children it's what you have to do. I hope you can reassure her and you get some answers. Good luck.

Gin - I've not been on for a few days, so I'm a bit behind the times, but I'm so pleased to see your CB test. Amazing news.

SK, I hope this is it for you - try to keep the faith.

Onestep, it's great that things are moving for you. Cardiff are great - they gave me my + result... ;)

Ryan - maybe http://resolve.org/ could be helpful. It's an American website, so lots of the specifics won't quite be right, but they are there to support those with fertility issues. Please don't be scared by the word infertility - it just means you've been trying for more than a year without success, so it applies to all of us here. This page is incredibly supportive, so please stay and gather any support you can from here. I also find twitter a great support, even if you're just following and getting an idea of what everyone else is going through it can be really helpful. I'm @jiblets1, so if you're on there, just have a look at the people I follow, they'll be a good place to start. I actually have that account purely for infertility people these days, and I keep my IRL friends and celebs that I follow on a different account, so you can keep it completely private if you want to.
Good luck, I hope you and your wife find a way to confront the issue and get the result that you want.
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o
