Your holiday sounds fabulous chickpea. We've only been away for Christmas once and it was after we had our first miscarriage, when the baby's due date had been Christmas Eve. We booked it to take our mind off the date with no expectation it would work, but surprisingly it did, and we had a lovely relaxing time. It was though very odd to sit on the beach in the blazing sun (we went to the Gambia) on Christmas Day. I hope it has the same relaxing and therapeutic impact on you.

Your healthy eating plan sounds great. I flirt with low carb too when my weight creeps up. Have you experimented with cauliflower rice yet? I think I actually prefer it to the real stuff and it is lovely with things like curries or pasta sauces. I just grate some cauli then fry it in butter for a few minutes though you can add in extra flavours too if you want.

Never tried cauliflower rice Nicki - sounds so bizarre I think I will though!

I am looking forward to the holiday - and yes, it is a good diversion!

  • Juju - i would have loved to have gotten married in Vegas. I am getting married in Wales in December and even now I wish I was just flying away to do it with a personal group of friends and family. We have decided we might do part of our honeymoon in Vegas if we do a California road trip :)

I had my day 8 scan this morning for IUI. As well as follicles they also suspect I have endometriosis. I had a particularly painful period just gone - it felt like my right ovary was throbbing (and still does at times). I go back on Friday for another scan to see if my ovary has moved. At the moment its against the wall of my uterus and my bladder right next to it. I am not sure what this means or what happens next. I am not sure about endometriosis and fertility but I believe its a cause. I guess I will know more on Friday.

Also just looking at google - about 6 years ago I had suspected IBS - and endometriosis is often mistaken for this.

I hope your wedding goes well in December. Myself and my partner have been married before so we decided to get married in Vegas before having another go at IVF. We have just got my best friend and her husband coming out with us for the first week, then we are taking the Route 1 up to LA and San Fran for the 2nd week. So looking forward to it but still have the IVF in the back of my mind.

Sorry you have been in pain with the endom but hopefully this is the cause of you not getting pregnant and they can help in some way.

How you doing, hanging in their Kitten?

Can one of you lovely ladies help with a pregnancy test question?

If you've been doing IVF with egg retrieval on the 7th and embryo transfer on the 11th, what's the earliest you could test and hope to get an accurate result?

My clinic asks you to test 16 days post egg collection. I have tested 14 days - and got my result.

Good luck! It is hard waiting, but don't rush, as you would have had hsg shot, and it needs to be out of your system. And every one of us is different!

No HSG shot as the IVF used donated eggs.

Ohhhhhhh, a cycle buddy!!! My ET was 12th Fluffnutter.

I tested yesterday which was 6dp2dt - completely too early - and got very upset so hubby has hidden my tests now until at least Sunday when I will be 11dp2dt. I'm hoping this will be long enough.

I'm hanging in there Juju except I have an abcess flare up again. Normally it takes a week or so to develop but I went to bed last night as normal and it woke me up with the pain at 5.30am. Now I can't sit, stand, lie down - it's agony. Have been given 2 lots of antibiotics and co codamol.

My body hates me. I just pray my body fighting this infection doesn't affect T&P settling in..... this is the reason my last cycle was cancelled - is someone trying to tell me something?
