    I'm so pathetic I don't watch programmes about pregnancy or childbirth - makes me too jealous..!

    +++++++++

    JuJu - hope things go well on first visit to new clinic.

    +++++++

    Lilo - hope AF kicks in soon, that would do my head in.

    Well, I phoned Midlands Fertility and they agreed that if I wasn't getting the tests, I wouldn't have to pay for them!

    So doing the maths, my total bill for consultation+AMH test+HyCoSy is £590, which sounds a lot better than £880 which is what it would have been otherwise!

    Can't wait for it to be over with. It's a major inconvenience taking Thurs off work - I haven't told my boss what it's for, I just muttered something about 'medical tests' and he didn't ask any more.

    Nic that's a toughie, maybe speak to consultant and see what he says and suggests xx

    Chick i'm the same, I can't watch any new born baby type show it upsets me too much,

    I just can't get my head around how many grey areas of infertility there are, what on earth are we actually paying best part of £5,000 for?

    Only the lab part i think justifies a fair price tag, the rest is beyond ridiculous, they all seem to charge similar rates as that seems to be the rrp lol.

    I agree toniq, the cost is scandalous. But then, the NHS never does cheap does it? My clinic said I could get the drugs at cost price, so at least that should save a few pennies, when I finally start.

    I am a bit miffed today I choose the clinic I wanted to go to based on the brilliant reputation of the immune specialist that was there and I have found out today he is leaving to open a new clinic with Zita West in London, I don't know what to do now I really wanted him and not sure if he will fit me in before he leaves :( and still no smiley face on test so don't think I will OV this month :(
    The immune specialist might have trained other staff at the clinic well? Hope he could fit you in before he goes though:o

  • Chickpea - thats great news about the tests. Just goes to show we should all look closely at what we pay for whether TTC or not.
    Also the program was more about the internal conception from sperm to egg. A few pregnant women but not too bad :D

    QQ and Toniq - how is the sickness? I have fingers crossed for you both this month.

    Nichart - What day are you on? Is it too soon for Ov?

    Ju Ju - Big Hugs honey.

    I need to pick up my drugs from the hospital for the IUI (before my cycle starts). Will these be normal prescription charges or extra super duper charges? I am going on the NHS but I know this sometimes makes no difference.
