Fingers crossed for IVF (and no AF):)
  • Hi ladies (and any lurking men!)

Having a bad day. Called the doctor today to find out progress of IVF funding application to be told that after 2.5 months he still hasn't sent it in on the right form. We had mtg with gynae consult end of June who said IVF was best chance; saw GP first week of July; was told he was sorting it 2nd week of July. Called him first week of August to be told by receptionist he had sent in letter, but PCT had asked him to fill out form. Called 2 weeks later to be told by another GP that there was no record of letter or form on my notes. Spoken to our GP again today and he said it was "in progress" - saying PCT wanted him to fill out a form which was on a website, but he couldnt find it, but he would sort it.

I went onto our PCT (or whatever they are now called) website found 2 versions of the form and emailed the links to the surgery ..........do you think that's a bit cheeky:o

I know I am just one patient of many, but this seems totally unreasonable. the local IVF clinics apparently have short waiting times so just want the funding sorted so he can refer .......I'm not getting any younger after all:mad:

OK rant over ........hugs to those who need them and good luck to those of you dieting over the weekend. I dont have a problem with my BMI but do need to lose a bit .....will start on Monday!
    2009 total raised £2373.60:j
the new garden beat me in 2010 just £1306.66:o

Life Changing October 2011 - DF & £10000 saved - twins came - no plans
2013 - twins now 14 mths old - lets get sorted!

Contgrats to the BFP's, fingers crossed for anyone in the 2WW and hugs to those who need them.

I've not felt much like posting recently but I have been reading.

8DPO here with a big dip this morning on my chart but after 15 (unsuccessful) attempts, we're not getting any hopes up. Have been reviewing all my charts over the last few days and can't understand why with our timing, it hasn't happened yet.

Ahh !!!!!! it lol. Onwards and upwards. Busy weekend for us this weekend. A masked ball tonight and another night out tomorrow. I'll be glad to come back to work on Monday for a rest!

In other news, I spoke to my PG friend for the first time in 7 weeks yesterday. It was awkward and it's not fixed yet but at least we've spoken. Hopefully normal service will be resumed there soon.

    Good luck with that.

I find that with pg friends, I'm bitterly jealous/tearful/angry at first and can hardly look them in the face let alone ask them about their pg, but after meeting them a few times and getting used to it, the bad feelings gradually diminish.

I'm sure once you talk again and maybe even meet up, you can get over the difficulties.

I don't blame you for feeling the way you do about her though, I'm always the same!

The worst conversation I had with a friend was over 2 years ago. It was after TTC for 3 years with #1 and getting nowhere, and I was a mental wreck, completely depressed and irrational. So she phoned and asked how TTC was going. I ranted and raved for about 20 mins, telling her how much I wanted to wipe the smug happy pregnant smiles off smug happy pregnant women's faces.

The when I'd calmed down, I asked her why she was calling and what was new.

    Turns out she was pregnant...

If I remember correctly, it was on Valentine's Day too, so I then went downstairs, and sobbed my way through the lovely dinner of fillet steak that I'd been slaving over for us before she rang, hot tears of rage dripping into my Pinot Noir.

    Happy freakin' Valentine's Day!

Good doctors make it all easier to bear, bad ones...suck.

I had a bad doctor first tiem round. He was a bit of a sociopath, would never make eye contact and spoke in a weird sing-songy monotone.

Anyway, it took me 2 years to persuade my husband to produce a sample, which he only agreed to do provided I handled everything (so to speak) myself, and handed the sample in to the hospital, stored in my bra while he sat in the carpark with a jacket over his head.

Two weeks later, we went to GP to get the results. Except GP had lost the letter. He told us we'd have to do it all again, at which point my ever-patient husband suggested he should ask reception if they could help him track it down. The GP stormed out of the room, muttering 'for f*&k's sake' under his breath.

And yes, the receptionist did have the letter. And my husband passed with flying colours!

As of this morning, I have started AHA diet. On Monday I am back to normal food, and if I need, I will repeat the AHA diet next Friday-Sunday to be ready for the appointment on Monday.

As of this morning, my scales kindly informed me that I weigh 80.8 kg (~12st 10lb). My height is 1.64m (~5ft 4.5 in). This means my BMI is 30.04. Since I need to get below 29, it will take some more work. And, my AF is due on Monday (or any day now). So, to do that I need to be at 12st 3lb, meaning I need to get rid of 7lb! (or ~3.2kg).

Sorry for boring you with all this again!

Good luck. AHA might well do it for you, especially if you do it twice between now and appointment and stay strict in between.

I only lost 3 pounds on it this time - but better off than on.

I now need to lose 9 pounds in 13 days...

Good that you found the link for him:p
At least the waiting times is short, once he get that forms in, it should start very soon. Hang on:o
  • 4 pounds in 4 days - c'mon!!

I now only need to lose 8 pounds to get a sub-30 BMI!

Having a little day off starvation today by having a calorie-counted (c1100) Atkins day.

Although, it's actually not that clever doing Atkins while taking Alli as it turns out. I had bacon and eggs for breakfast. Very nice too, except later on Barack Obama called, concerned about the latest British oil leak..!

I'm on CD22 OR 23 I think - having a non-neurotic month regarding SSing and so forth - I was SO convinced last month, and I was wrong then, so SSing is completely pointless.

I'll be testing a week on Tuesday, assuming AF hasn't called by before then.

    Have a good weekend!

Thanks QQ, although I'm wavering a little on when T-DAY actually should be.

Maybe I should test on CD28 - this Friday? That'll be 12dpo - should be late enough to know with an early test, no?

My average cycle is prob about 28 days, but it's varied between 25 days and 31 days in last year. OV has been CD16 at the earliest though.

So yes, scratch that Tuesday ref - T-DAY is Friday! (Maybe).

You must be getting close to the 'active phase' of the month?
