    Hi all

Kairi - good news on AF, at least you did actually O. Is a Hscosy the same as a HSG? I had a HSG a few months ago to check if my tubes were blocked

    Star x
I have to say I don't know Star. I'll let you know what hycosy is like after Monday but at the moment as far as i know it's like an internal scan.

You might want to do a little research on it beforehand - just do a search on this thread. Hope it goes well.
    The IVF worked;DS born 2006.
  • Yes good luck for Monday - if it is to check your tubes they will flush dye through them - they insert the dye through the cervix and take xrays to see if it comes out the other end of your tubes. Everyone finds this different, but I think it is uncomfortable rather than painful for most. You may want to take some painkillers before you have it, and have some pads for afterwards as you may get a bleed.

Hope it goes well - lilo

Been to the doctor's, I'll probably ov on Monday. He said since it is late (Monday is CD22), it is unlikely to implant, so I should relax about it:o

The lining is starting to get old and come apart. He gave me 100mg Clomid for next cycle.

Will hope for the next cycle:o
  • Sorry to barge in.... I'm a longtime lurker with everything crossed you all get your BFPs soon:)
On the last IVF attempt, my consultant found a little patch on my cervix and advised me to get it checked out - I got called for a colposcopy and on 31.12.08 was diagnosed with cervical cancer. After an extremely worrying 3 months, I was allowed to have a fertility sparing operation called a trachelectomy, rather than the normal hysterectomy. I had this in March last year. I was given the all-clear in May, and was allowed to recommence TTC in September.
Lilo about the Trachy....how did you find it?? How long did it take you to recover?? Was there anything you found mega helpful during recovery or could suggest??
My best friend has cervical cancer and is having the Trachy at the end of the month(there's a day op on the 23rd for something can't remember what though:o) and although I live about 100miles away from her I REALLY want to do something useful for her sympathy is out of the question, she doesn't do moping:) Any suggestions would truly be appreciated, oh and please don't suggest a surprise visit to her..I can't:(:( As much as I'd love to see her and give her the biggest hug in the world I can't...she doesn't mind talking to me but she thinks seeing me would be too difficult for her atm:(:(:( I'm gutted but can completely understand:)

    TIA x

Hi Fuzz, nice to see you. Hope you're keeping well? Sorry to hear about your friend :( I can't advise i'm afraid (I can't stand to see my BF at the moment as she's PG) but I hope everything goes well for her.

Well, CD1 here for me again :( Attempt number 16 on the way. I couldn't get into the docs for my second lot of bloods today as they have a nurse off sick so am booked in tomorrow morning. Over another month till hubby has his second SA, but there must be something amiss. I've been charting since the beginning and we haven't caught once, despite 15, very well timed attempts. I'm aware this is nothing compared to the time some of you ladies have been trying so really, we have nothing to complain about and I must try to remember that.

Oh well. Must try not to get so down - we have our first anniversary to look forward to on Monday, 10 days off work and our holiday - 5 days camping in North Wales with 18 of our closest friends :rotfl: It's a lovely campsite - Shell Island, and we're going to climb Snowdon too. Fertile time starts the day we arrive so I shall do a sign to hang on our tent "if the tent's a rocking, don't come a knocking!" :p

Hugs to anyone who needs them.

    SK x

Love the thought of the sign sexk1tten, it is hard to take, but doesnt mean there is something wrong. Sometimes it just takes that long to happen. Good that you are having your tests done, and I hope these go well - I know what you mean though, if there was something wrong, it can be put right and you will get pregnant.

Confuzzled, I wish your friend all the best with the operation. The day surgery is probably tests to make sure the trach can go ahead - I had my lymph nodes taken out on mine, but she may not have this until the second op. The recovery for this isnt bad, I found it fairly straight forward, although I had had more sugery iyswim, so my experience may not be relevant.

As for the trachy, I cant say I had that much pain, but let us just say, leave your dignity at the door and collect it on the way out. You are filled up with wadding which needs removing, and you are walking around for a week carrying your wee in a bag. She will feel like crap but the biggest thing is that it wipes you out for ages. I can understand that she doesnt want anyone around, I didnt want anyone except DH at the hospital. I love my DS to bits, but found I couldnt really cope with him. As I was hour and half away from all my friends and family, it was easy to not have any other visitors.

I know it is hard to understand, but you really turn inward when this happens. The best support you can be is to support her when she needs it, and listen to her when she wants to talk, and take her mind off things when she doesnt. Before I went in, my friend did me a little bag with pjs, smellies bed socks etc which was a really lovely thought. Flowers when she is in there to remind her that you are thinking of her, and a visit when she feels ready for one. The recovery is similar to a hysterectomy, and she really needs to take it easy and not overdo it. I have to say, although this really is TMI, sex is really difficult afterwards - it all feels really different and can be quite uncomfortable. It has taken a long time, and a very patient DH to get back to normal. The worst thing was that I just didnt want to at all, completely lost interest, Because I didnt feel sexy anymore IYSWIM. (You might not want to pass on that bit, but just be ready with a listening ear if needed!

HTH, and if I can help any more, please post or pm me. If you google trachelectomy you can find the patients booklet which explains exactly what they do, but I would cross your legs before reading!

  • Hi Sexki11en:wave: I'm good thanks and thanks for your best wishes, much appreciated:) I guess you feel pretty much the same way I imagine my mate to feel when she see's me:o Although I think my mate is a sadist coz she constantly asks about bubs but I think seeing me makes it more realy IYSIWM

Thanks Lilo:D Luckily I'm well informed on their sex life.....or lack of :p:D Its about on par with mine:rotfl::rotfl:
Thanks for the offer of pming you....although you might regret it:p:D

    Hello

1st of all yey it's Friday and I have a week off work it's our 1st wedding anniversary on Tuesday :j
Star1- Hi and welcome, wishing you lots of luck with this month on clomid from the scans it sounds positive, you also sound like your getting really good support while on it, I was on it I think 9 cycles and just saw the hospital 3 times and just had a blood test and was given another prescription no scans, I had never heard of the drilling before just googled hope you don't need it though x

Maddie - glad to hear the results all came back normal x

Vk - Hi and welcome, have you decided to start temping?

crisp £ note - Hi and welcome, agree with lilo the specialists don't sound too helpfull, have you ever been refered to a dietitian that will give you more advice on loosing the weight, just saying you need to loose weight is not the best advice if you know that already, it must be so hard to loose any weight with the medical problems you have but they might have some good advice for you and give the confidence that it can be done and like lilo said many people that are overweight have got pregnant so it's not impossible x

kairi- Hi I hope the hycosy appointment goes well, I had this done and it was over quickly and they showed me it running through on screen and let me know then that it was ok x x

Hi fuzz hope your PG is going well, sorry to read about your friend x x

SK- sorry AF turned up gggrrrrr, have a fab time camping and enjoy your first wedding anniversary it's a day before mine :D

    Hope everyone else is well,

I wont be joining you Jujugaboo :( don't have my op to get rid of cyst until 12/10 so IVF will be November but lots and lots of luck im kepping everything crossed for a BFP for you x x
