Thought I seen a line, but its just me going crazy :P

It so hard, isn't it? I keep seeing lines like that and will keep going to different rooms for better light, twisting the test to make sure there is nothing... I have to tell myself to stop imagining things!

My fingers are crossed for you!

I was taling to my neighbour yesterday who's in the middle of going through her IVF drugs. She's so down. She says how awful the drugs are making her feel. She can be a bit prone to depression anyway, and they're really making her entirely withdrawn. I can just see this happening to me. I react really badly to hormones - the clomid was a prime example (and I'm really pleased the consultant hasn't asked me to try those again).
I'm really scared now (and I know that wasn't my neighbours intention!) about how the drugs will affect me, and affect my relationship. Any advice?

weirdly, even though u r injecting synthetic hormones into yourself, it is so exciting as u really are on a path which could in weeks give u ur dream, just remind yourself why u r doing it and u should be fine. Try to keep busy, the injections u get used to so quickly, i hardly feel them xxxx

Your clinic should offer u counselling, it is worth it as it's a bit like this thread a way to let off steam xxxxxx

Ladies you were down on page 4 so I thought I'd give you a bit of a bump (sorry it's not a baby one).

Anyway, I have a question as there was some discussion on TTC thread about when you should approach your GP if it's just not happening. So wanted to ask when you went and were any of you turned away for not giving it enough of a chance?

I've heard it said that if you're older you should go sooner, but equally that it takes longer to conceive when you're older so you should try for longer.

A bit about me: I'm 41 next month, TTC for 1 year (14 cycles) - just started using CBFM - first month got a peak, this month nothing, otherwise AF is regular, no health issues.

I would go now, as i was told after a year of trying seek help, truthfully as u realsie, it's sooner u should seek help rather than later in fertility stakes xxxx

I think it depends on your GP as well. We went when it was just over a year. I was 29, OH 35. I think official suggestion was to wait 18 months if you under 30 (or 35?), and 12 months if older. But I heard somewhere to go after 6 months if you are older, as they can at least take the blood tests to confirm if you ovulating.

In your case I would go to GP and get day 2 and day 21 blood tests for yourself and sperm analysis for OH. If he says you should wait longer, I would push to get these done anyway.

Just saw this on NHS website:
    Deciding to seek help

Some women get pregnant very quickly but for others it can take longer. It is a good idea for a couple to visit their GP if they have not conceived after one year of trying.
Women over the age of 35, and anyone who is already aware that they may have fertility problems, should see their GP sooner. The GP may be able to check for common causes of fertility problems, and suggest treatments that could help. If fertility problems are diagnosed, there are many different treatments and procedures that are available.

So, I would be making appointment straight away!

In my area you get referred at 1 year at a younger age, and sooner if you're older. I would think that for you I would go to the doctors after about 6 months. But if you go too soon they only send you back and tell you how long to wait, no harm done. So I guess if you think there may be any delay, then get there as soon as you can!
