I actually took up coffee when we already ttc - I didn't like it before! And no, I am not going to give it up. All I have is one cup of latte in the morning. (Ok, occasionally 2, but very occasionally). I used to drink mainly green tea and herbal teas, but none of it matters it seems to me. All our Italian friends where drinking coffee (espresso) like water before and during pregnancy. They were shocked to hear, when I said in UK you should be giving up coffee.
My breasts are feeling tender today and I am holing myself not to start getting excited. I am only on CD20, so still a long way to go. (Oh, and I managing to lose some weight, althogh I can#t stop eating pork pies and fish & chops the week. I guess, after tonight's thai meal, it will all pile up! Lost 2.7kg in the last 3 weeks)
Do you know i just thought of something else as well, i used to work in a coffee bar and 3 girls got pregnant pretty much one after the other and they swore it was down to the lattes, they all had been drinking lattes regularly and fell pregnant so it cant be that bad.
Am thinking of having some refelxology done, i was debating between that or acupuncture but after a bit of research, reflexology seems to work pretty well for a lot of people, can't hurt can it? (well maybe my wallet:rotfl:)0 -
Anything that helps you relax is worthwhile, foxy-roxy.
Re the coffee/alcohol debate, personally I try and practise moderation. I drink alcohol (Usually 1 glass) 2-3 times per week, I have been known to have 2 glasses - or last week 4!!!!!!!!! My bigger problem is latte coffee - I have had 3 today, and will drink 1-2 3/4 times a week. I drink organic black decaf at home, which is completely harmless, but when I am out, I always have latte.
I must admit I have got to the point that I dont get pregnant with or without, so so long as I dont over indulge, I am fairly relaxed about it. And life would not be worth living without coffee!!! Alcohol yes, coffee NO!!!!!
And fortunately for me, hubby very rarely drinks, and drinks tea rather than coffee so no problem there.
Anyway, I am out for another month - day 27 and AF is definately on her way. At least I have had a normal cycle this month so with any luck all is back to normal. I get my next results on Tuesday, so hopefully all will be well there as well. I feel fairly relaxed about it, so am hoping not to get any bad news. Fingers crossed.
Ginvzt, I have an extra set of fingers crossed for you too!

You will have to keep your fingers crossed for a very long time then! According to my consultant, I shouldn't test till day 37 (yes, as if that is going to happen).
CD23 here. Temperature has gone up (36.97 in the morning, similar yesterday). So, I hope it is a good sign, unless I am having a cold showing up!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

Hey all. I must admit in the alcohol debate I tend to just drink as I feel like. There are so many women who get pregnant without stopping booze - indeed, without giving up at all, in some cases (anyone been watching Mad Men? lol) that I just don't believe it is a huge factor. That said when I am low carbing I keep very low on the booze, and when I am actively ttc I don't drink from a few days before ovulation and when I get my period or +ve. It's more superstition really I suppose. I think my weight is a much more important issue. Caffeine wise I gave up ages ago, even in tea. I really notice if I have it now, makes me really jumpy!

I have had decaff tea and coffee for years, as caffeine in anything other than tiny doses makes me very ill, gives me the shakes, headaches and nausea. After my last IVF EC I was very very bloated and was advsed to have peppermint tea as a relief (while waiting to go to blastocyst) and I couldn't even sip it, the smell made me heave so have had to stick to standard but decaff tea.
As for alcohol I drink on weekends normally as the chances of a natural conception are teenie teenie tiny for us, of course if it did happen i'd be off any alcohol like shot. During treatment however I stop totally, full stop. Have had no alcohol since Jan 5th this year and hope for it to stay that way.

Injections is one thing I am dreading if we get to IVF. I already told OH, that he will have to do the injections, as there is no way I would be able to do it myself. Fear!!!! When I was a kid a had plenty of injections and all I remember is needles bouncing of my skin, as my muscles used to go so tense and hard, they couldn't inject me!
Oh, and OH used to work with red cross, so he also has some experience. And when it hurts, I can blame him and be miserable (as always).Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
