alamaya - hi hun. I've got some serious weight to lose too before my IVF appointment. Infact, I was due to go this month but know I've lost no where near enough yet, so have postponed it for another few months.. damn you comfort eating! Anyway, I asked the specialist how long I'd have to wait for my IVF treatment to start after I'd lost the weight and was really taken aback when he said "within a month". I said "I thought there was a waiting list as long as my arm".. but semingly not always. I know it depends whereabouts you live though.
toniq - *hug* I'm so glad I'm not the only one that celebrates my dogs birthdays! Even been known to throw them a party before now.. with tuna sandwiches.. and even pass the parcel. Just dont ask! I know EXACTLY what you mean about being broody! lol
plumpmouse - huge congratulations!! Yay!!
Been a while since I posted on here, (2 miscarriages within last year, TTC since forever) and restarted Clomid in January - New Years resolution more BD'ing. Now 4 days overdue, but havent tested as 99.9% its just the silly pills messing me around and haven't really returned to being "regular" since the last MC.
Anyway, good luck everyone.. lots of love xx0 -
Been watching a programme tonight on sky called extreme pregnancy and a woman got pregnant naturally through following dr marilyn glenvilles nutrition advice. Got her book a while ago and really would love to follow it but it could get quite expensive with the supplements she recommends and the organic food she says to have.
This was what worked for us, after being told that IVF was our only option, and that even the chances of that were slim due to age and other factors on both male and female sides. 2 months after being told that, having followed the diet and vitamin recommendations faithfully, and using the CBFM, we conceived naturally. The vitamin supplements and organic foods weren't so very expensive when you compare how much IVF costs. It is certainly worth a try for a few months as nothing ventured nothing gained.0 -
Welcome back Toniq, i'm with you on the FET front.
Got AF today so have got to ring to get my day 21 planning appt, odd coincidence that it falls the day after hubbys birthday, and he has a long weekend off work so he can actually make this one (he works in Germany all week)
Don't feel too optimistic about this FET though, only got one lone Blastocyst on ice, but the clinic seem to think it's best to give it a go as it is a strong, top grade blasty, but my thoughts are, if 5 other cycles and 9 years ttc couldn't do the trick, then what are the chance of one lone frostie? But I musn't think that way I know, things are different this time, with new medication and stuff.
Only time will tell, and if this doesn't work then on we go, another fresh cycle planned for summer time.
Have a good Monday everyone.2 angels in heaven :A0 -
Hubby handed in another sample on Tuesday and got a letter to say hadn't worked and an appt for another one to be handed in 8th March. Got a phonecall this morning from fertility nurse to say because of this to cancel Wed appt with consultant and to make it 10th of March after sample handed in. So now have another month to worry about it. Had taken hols this week as was suppossed to be Nightshift on Wed so that I could have time off and be relaxed and stress free for appt and afterwards and now will be working after the appt.Yearly Grocery Budget - £100.77/ £3500. January Treats Budget - £11.80 / £100.0

hamish - sorry that you have to wait another month! But I hope all will go well next month.
Lisa - keep up the hope!
I am feeling very strange today. Had to eat something mid-morning as was feeling dizzy, and then at lunchtime I was ready to fight for the microwave at work, as was feeling as if I am going to faint if I won't get food quick. But had no strength to fight, so just went to sit at my desk and have a yoghurt while microwave was free. Then - I couldn't finish my 'main' course for lunch and still feeling strange (dizzy/ unstable, probably wouldn't be able to walk in straight line with my eyes closed!). Will try eating a biscuit with my tea in case it is my blood sugars that dropped. Annoying!!!! My boss is in today and I don't want to have to explain what is going on with me!Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -

Hi, I'm sure it has been asked already, but when one has been ttc for a while and nothing happens, does one make an appointment at the GP and go with my BBT chart?
Is it better to go private (how expensive?)?
And, what do they do???
Thank you:o0 -
Hey all. Weight is slowly coming down; I have 11 lb to go until I'm ready to try conceiving. I wish it would hurry up. I'm doin gyoga, running and swimming but losing the pounds is like blood out of a stone. Meanwhile I creak ever closer to 40. Sigh.0

QQuaver - when we made the initial appointment, I haven't brought my BBT charts. Actually, I have never shown them to my GP or consultant. I went under NHS initially, got the bloods done, OH semen analysis. Since all was fine, we got referred straight away. I transfered to Bupa later and appointments/procedures have been done promptly, but it cost some nerves getting Bupa to cover them. I am back to NHS now, as nothing was discovered and Bupa wouldn't cover anything more. I am still under the same consultant.
I have my first follicular tracking scan tomorrow. I don't know what to expect, may need to go back for another at a later day, or it might be ok and I will be given the injection.
Sarah, it is so hard to shift that weight, isn't it? I need to loose about 7-8kg to be able to go on IVF list (the line is drawn at BMI=30 here to get it under NHS!!!) if nothing happens with Clomid in the next few months. I am just over 30, so I am supposed to have time on my side for a bit still, but how long my mind will keep up with all this ttc is another question. Have you tried limiting wheat intake? I know everyone is different, but a few years back I had some stomach troubles, and narrowed it down that I couldn't tolerate wheat/gluten very well (all fine now). I went on no wheat/gluten, and I have to say, I lost quite a bit of weight. Didn't last though, as I do love my food (and bread). But I am limiting it now a bit as well (not cutting out completely).Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
