I was told that, very generally speaking, 50% of eggs fertilise, and of those 50%, a third make it to blastocyst. So if you had 6 eggs, 1 would make it to blastocyst.

But those are the stats when every woman and every attempt is taken into account. The outcome varies enormously for each individual. My own experiences - out of 9 eggs, none made it to blastocyst. When I used a donor, out of 8 eggs, 7 did.

it's probably 'only' a blockage, but I'm scared again. I thought I was ok with the cancer stuff, but just that one call today saying they were investigating again has really knocked me back.
Sorry I haven't read all your other posts, but couldn't it be just a late ov or skipped cycle? I get that all the time, but it's normal for one to have it from time to time?

Good luck for the embryo lucy

Good luck with the tests t2d. Your fear is understandable, but hopefully it's nothing to do with any of your concerns and your body has just decided this is the time it's gonna deal with the stress it's been under and not ovulate just yet. :o

Good luck with the social worker primmer. When I was talking to my sil about fostering (and adoption) she was saying how she'd been interviewed (for want of a better word) by a social worker, with regards to her friends' application(s). She told me they're looking for ways to rule you in, not rule you out. They were trying to find solutions to any potential issues first, so they could continue with the process. Hth?

So. Today is the day of my IVF assessment. Last night I said a little prayer to the implnatation God and then poas and got (for the first time ever!!) a TLP:eek: So OH and I agreed that in the morning we would test with our last digi....if it said Not pregnant we would go to the IVF assessment and if it said Pregnant we would pass out cold on the floor and cancel the appointment

    And the results are......

Thanks for the good wishes all.

QQ - the answer is yes, it could be all those things. I've never before skipped a period, or really even had much variation more than a few days. I don't know when I ovulated, but I did know I was in my LP - due to normal bloating, b00bs sore and then I got headaches and cramps to announce AF's arrival (over 3 weeks ago). But she never showed up - which is why I think it is something else. When you skip a period is it like that?

I had hoped it was pregnancy! But that seems unlikely at this stage. At 3 weeks late I should be seeing something on a HPT.

Obviously with the recent history they are much more proactive than they would normally be. The surgeon looked at my ovaries in early Feb (via surgery, so an actual physical look and feel) and they were ok, so it would have had to develop since then. He didn't do a biopsy at the time though.

Anyway, thanks to the joys of private health insurance, I have a scan on Friday. It's been a while since I dropped my knickers for a stranger! :rotfl:I had a blood HCG test today just in case, and FSH levels.

But, I'm feeling better today, after a bit of a stress moment on the tube. Of course, now I have started an investigate, for the first time in weeks my body seems to have slightly come alive - couple of little cramps after the whole area was silent for weeks, so maybe it is just delayed.
I'm glad I will know by the weekend, and of course part of me is still hoping they say 'oh look, that's not cancer - there's a tiny little human in there'. A girl can dream...
