My gps surgery does blood tests, the nurse does them. I've never heard of a surgery not doing them until reading this! That's so annoying for you to need to go to a hospital!

We have to go to the hospital too, although fortunately it's one of the few things still at our little local hospital. I expect soon we'll have to travel to the big one for that too.

I think I have yet another UTI. I really can't be doing with the hassle of trying to get a GP's appointment to get antiobiotics. Other than drinking a LOT of water, cranberry and baking soda - is there anything else I can try at home to get rid of it?

    Good luck with ec lucy

Tealover, I've got a uti too - had to go emergency docs on the weekend (not taking any chances now), but when I saw the urologist last year about having them repeatedly he said lots of water, cranberry concentrated capsules rather than the juice - the juice has to much sugar and sugar feeds the infection & the capsules have more of the good stuff, cut down on sugar, probiotics to increase the good bacteria to fight the bad bacteria. He said constipation was bad for encouraging them to begin and using wet wipes (after using the loo for no.2) was a good plan for avoiding them. Don't use perfumed soaps & shower gels on your lady bits as it upsets the ph and strips the good bacteria. Since following his advice I've only had this one (and I think that's pg related as apparently your uretha widens and that makes it easier to get infected?) and before I was getting then pretty frequently.

Thanks BZ, hope yours is sorted soon x. I usually take the cranberry capsules, then top up with some juice sometimes if I feel I need a boost!

I think endo has a lot to answer for in my case. I'm pretty much always constipated (tmi I know lol!) During my last lap (2010) I had a lot of endo and adhesions removed from one of my ureters and from around my bladder. I really struggled to empty my bladder for months after that and it's never felt quite right since.

Well I'm back from EC and i survived - wasn't too horrendous I guess.

3 good follies and they managed to get 3 eggs. Which is obviously not many. I'm disappointed as I really hoped some of the smaller follies might have caught up. No idea what kind of quality they are - got to wait for the call tomorrow am to see if any fertilised. So now hoping and praying and crossing everyong I've got that at least one does.

3 eggs is good Lucy! Keeping my fingers crossed for you! :)

Hope the UTI clears up soon Tea, not nice at all. :( I've got no advice, just hugs. :o

I'm feeling very lucky that my GP does blood tests on site, I'd be so miffed if I had to keep going to the hospital (~12miles away) for them! Maybe it's to do with the proximity of the surgery to hospital that affects whether or not GPs will provide the 'service'? Or some areas are just really awkward and I should maybe stop moaning so much about my GP as I could have it a lot worse! :p
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
