  • Thanks nichart, yes it is tomorrow - it is a hectic day, we have a concert in the evening as well! I have my fingers crossed, but not my legs, cos that would make it a little difficult!

Hi Catwoman. Welcome! Sorry you've arrived following such a trauma. I guess none of us would be herre if things were hunky dory, but it still sucks when we have bad news.
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o

OMG I've only been absent for a few days and I miss so much news...

So firstly, let me send a huge hug to you Catw0man - that is really sh*tty news and I had hoped for so much better news for you, but lets not think the very worst just yet? Not much else I can say, apart from we are all here for you if you need a shoulder, xxxx

I'll break my post up by saying Hi to Lilo, hope today went OK and you are feeling good x

And of course a huge range of emotions on here now as LL, what fantastic news and what else can I say that hasn't already been said?! You know I'm over the moon for you - yet again! Hope you leave us on here soon, in the best possible way... :T

BTW I'll also join the white knicker brigade ASAP!

  • Sorry to be adding to the doom and gloom at the moment but the visit did not go well.

Good news - I have ovulated this month, my FSH levels are pretty good for my age, and there were some other follicles. Uterus and endometrium were spot on and everything looked healthy and good

Bad news - looks like the left ovary is knackered, only one follicle and not a brilliant blood supply. One of my tubes is blocked but I think it is this one, so all is not lost

Even worse news - There is not clear passage into the uterus, as there is a fleshy patch round the stitch and the remaining hole, so they cannot see the hole to insert the catheter. They obviously cannot force it in as it could be in the wrong place and cause damage. So, game over as far as IVF is concerned. She is doing us a letter detailing all that she has found for us to take to see the consultant in December - but her recommendations is that we call it a day.

Her recommendation is that we pursue natural conception options and try and maximise the chances of falling naturally. She will give us any assistance with scans etc if we need it. She recommended that we bought a fertility monitor (we have just bought CBFM) and have sex on the 3 days that we get a peak. We are both overweight, so will be going on strict diets.

Surprisingly, I am not as devastated as I thought I would be, I think in some respects I am glad that a line has been drawn because I am not sure I would have known where to stop, and it is becoming harder to pay for.

I seem to have a PMA about falling pregnant naturally, and have decided que sera sera. (Please remind me of this regularly, as I am sure I am going to forget!) I just seem to have this inner confidence that it will happen. I still have quite good FSH levels, so think I have probably got about 5 more possible years to conceive (Although I would be a dinosaur parent by then!) So hopefully with lots of BDing, I will get there.

All in all, I feel that my slow boat to Australia has just hit a big iceberg. I am still seaworthy for now, and am slowly limping on. Time will tell if I can get there, but I am bailing out with my bucket for all Im worth!

PS Concert was great, have only just got home!

catw0man, I am so sorry to hear your news. I will pray for a good outcome for you, and am sending the biggest hugs to you. I know the feeling of a disastrous early scan and how devastating it is, and all my thoughts are with you and OH.
