  • It feels like the final step.. but really it's not quite. Depends on how you view parenting. Do you want to fall pregnant relatively easily like most people do, or do you want to be a parent?

Ummmm... both? :o I know what is coming. I'm just finding it very hard to come to terms with. I so desperately wanted the whole 'lovely' pregnancy thing (I know this is a myth but it's just something I wanted to experience naturally) along with being a mum (I wanted 4 kids back when I thought pregnancy was something achievable- won't be able to afford that though!) and I feel that it's been stolen away from me. It sounds so melodramatic when you write it down but I genuinely feel like I'm grieving/ very angry. I think that even if I have successful IVF I won't enjoy the pregnancy as I'm just so stressed out by it all.

Thanks for the tip Primmer- I've got OH a massive bag of walnuts that I'm planning on force feeding him. Luckily he doesn't mind them because I'll be sneaking them into all his food.... ;)

Anyway... I'm off to my Mum's to have our very own race day. Luckily the orange skin, mahoosive eyelashes and lycra outfits are optional so I plan on stuffing my face with food, getting more than a little tipsy and trying to enjoy myself...

It's my last day as I got on the scales today and saw that in the last 6 weeks I've managed to pile on 9 pounds. Disgusted with myself! Wish I was one of those people who lost their appetites when stressed! :)

Doesn't sound melodramatic at all. It sounds perfectly reasonable to feel like that. All I can say is that you will adjust, as impossible as that seems now, you will feel better about everything. You feel like you couldn't enjoy a pregnancy now because you're right in the thick of it. But if you do have IVF and it works (which hopefully it will), you will enjoy it. Just take some time.

Me again, feeling a bit more human now. Blood tests showed it isn't ohss, just a really badly timed v nasty bug. Sounds v ott but I really thought my end had come, have never felt pain like that. Have some antibiotics so fingers crossed that does the trick.

Speaking of fingers crossed....I have 2 (yes 2!!) embies on board!

Thank you all for the great advice, & for putting up with me whinging all night.
