I gave my latest donation last week and the staff are gearing up for the xmas 'quiet' a time when ordinary sane donors tend to forget to go along and make their regular donation.

I dont want to be seen to be preaching but please go along to your nearest donor session and give the gift of life.
  • I've signed too, can't donate at the moment as I have just had a baby, but i'll be back just as soon as they'll take my blood
  • I've signed too! I already have my next appointment in March.

I was due to donate in November, the very weekend we moved house, next available session was on New Years Eve, but was ill all over Christmas with this virus that's been going round, so I've booked back in on 3rd Feb.
I've always hated needles, I used to pass out as a child when giving blood samples at the doctors, but I am very proud to have made it to 50 donations last year. Another 50 and you get treated to a posh meal out apparently.
My father in law who donates in Germany, tells me they get treated to a meal after each donation, but it's reward enough to know I could be saving lives with every donation.
