I really feel sorry for you reading this!! I started a thread a few days ago about wanting a new look, needing to look feminine. All I ever look is scruffy in ripped jeans and baggy tshirts and I hate it, plus being single, a full time nursing student and having two littlies means I have always worried that I may never manage to attract another guy again! :rotfl:

I got some great advice though, and know what to look out for when shopping.. not that I can afford shopping anytime soon!

Have you looked on bigwardrobe.com as well? Sorry if someone has already mentioned it. It's completely free and you can buy other people's bits or swap for your own. I know you said your stuff was too scruffy but maybe if a few peoples bits that are coming your way don't fit then it's a place to start? I'm sure they won't mind!!

I've stuck a few bits on there and hoping people take an interest... good if like me you really can't afford anything new x

I'm a bit (:o) chubby so am a 16/18 and Primark don't have anything for me generally, or Peacocks.

sorry to hijack the thread :o but sb, do you know that Peacocks go up to a size 22/24? Im a size 20 on top and I've had some lovely stuff from there - I once bought a white corset top in there that everyone I knew coveted :D I've also just bought the coolest Little Miss Naughty top there... have a scout round you'll be amazed what you can find. xx

I'm quite surprised about primark too! I've been looking at changing my wardrobe and getting lots of pretty feminine vintage inspired clothes, and every top or dress I saw in Primark that I truly loved was only on the rail between a 16 and a 20 (which I'm not) :)

I'm also really impressed that their underwear goes up to bigger sizes now (possibly 40FF) and it fits well :)

Don't pass things by in Primark because they are not marked as your size - their sizings can be a little wrong at times, it's worth giving something a go if you have time ;)

  • hi leedslass a few of my friends have told me about this site and thought i would have a look because ive just lost some weight and none of my clothes fit me anymore and i dont have much money to get any new stuff. Not sure what size you are but i was a size 14 i was going to take it all to the charity shop but can send it to you if you want to have a look and anything you dont want you can take to the charity shop. If anybody out there has anything you dont need in a size 10 please let me know!

  • Hi leedslass, i too am from leeds and a lass..so howdy! I get the feeling that your boyfriend should pull his finger out. You have been together long enough to go on holiday, so its long enough for him to notice you are scruffy and miserable..if he hasnt maybe you have been together too long. Chin up and hit the charity shops x
