yesterday i spent the day shovelling tonnes of sand and type one into the earth ship i am working on ...i was sore shattered and frozen but wht an enormous sense of achievement i felt ...it realy hit me that this is the type of work i want to do ...i dont want to be just sitting at a table pushing a pen i want to be doing the whole shebang...

yep karma thats the wonderful thing ...building a building from tyres for a community to use ...wow ...that to me is real community work ...yes youth work etc are very important and needed ...but i dont want to work with any particular section of the community ...i want to work with the whole of the community ...to get them to pull together for themselves ...and sustainably and ecologically as well ...well then i am a happy bunny ..tired , sore ,in pain , but i am happy ...

i know its something you are passionate about as well ... it feels great to share your passion

Absolutely! An Earthship, wonderful. And for us to learn to steward the planet properly is very important to me, absolutely. Did you see BBC news this morning? A family of 3, who do supermarket shopping and buy glass jars from supermarkets (i.e. not out on the wildest fringe) they only send one bin a *year* to landfill - everything else they reuse or recycle. Amazing stuff, I wish I could get it down to that. Maybe in a couple of years.

    You go girl!
