    YEP..me too:eek::eek::eek:.....
    It is just so beyond belief..
    VOSA ...must have had complaints about the garage though as there are 5 other people...so they must know the exact procedure....
    There is no point worrying now that you haven't been legal as that has been and gone and nothing you can do ....at least you didn't get caught.
    Can you get someone to take you to the airport??

    i will need to try for this tomorrow ...the fil has to take the mil into hopsital she has major surgery coming up she feels she might have to cancel with everything that has happened last weekend ...she really needs the surgery so we are trying to get her to go for it but her blood pressure is through the roof (understandably)

    the good thing is we havnt been caught up till now ...but hubby does have to go and get son right now son cant be seen in the village so hubby has to go pick him up and bring him straight in ...so he will have to use the car

    I did actually fear that would be the case..as the new garage owners never did your car.So technically isn't their problem.I'm so sorry to hear that though obviously they don't care about customer service either or else they would offer to help you(even though they don't have to) but it would have been good for business for them if they had.
    THe more stories I hear about independant garages the more I'm glad I use the main dealers.

    Don't worry about the certificate. Your car passed its MOT. In the "old days" i.e. about 5 years ago, the certificate was your only evidence your car passed. Now, with the computerised certs, when your car passes, the licensing people get informed automatically. The certificate isn't all that important these days.

    All you *should* need to get your car taxed online is your car-tax reminder and some money. Give it a try, what do you have to lose? (Apart from about £175 depending in your CO2 emissions...)

    It even checks your insurance automatically too, as the insurance companies have to forward their database to the government.
