afternoon all,

after my trip to the hospital today ive had to face the reality that we need to put a hold on the baby making for a while. I have a poorly knee which started about 9 months ago, was told the initial referal would take 6-8 months to see a physio (it took 3 weeks) she then advised the hospital referal would take at least 6 months (typically it took 4 weeks) so even though i thought i may have time to pretty far into a pregnancy it turns out its all come to a standstill,

im still going to read all your news but there is no point even hoping to continue right now as surgery is looking likely,

take care all,

Hmmm, I don't think it's tempting bad luck because I am a great believer in it will happen or it won't and nothing you say can change that. However, it might make any BFN's more upsetting ?? I suppose it's personal choice.
We are thinking of moving DS into the bigger spare room partly because with all his toys he needs a bigger room to get them out of the lounge (grr!) and in my mind he will need to move out anyway when next one makes an arrival. But also thinking shouldn't count my chickens. Difficult one.
I think I will make the room ready and move things around but not 'decorate' or get ready for new one yet. x

Thats exactly why my SIL is doing it. She had a bad pregnancy with her little boy and she wants to help other women. She isn't doing it for the babies

You don't sound soppy at all!!

CAFCGirl, I'm in a 2 bedroomed flat and the answer to your question is NO lol! The back room is filled with junk, but we've got room for a crib in our bedroom

Mishka, sorry to hear that hun, you need to get yourself better so you can come back soon

Another random question...

does anyone have a room ready for baby yet?
Im in a bit of a quandry because we have loads of stuff in storage from 1st baby angel, and part of me thinks maybe if the space is ready, then 2nd little bean will want to come and hang out with us in it.....
plus another part of me thinks at least it'll keep my mind occupied.....
or is it tempting bad luck???
Yup we've got a room half ready:D When we re-decorated we did it in yellow/white/red(don't ask!I wanted blue!)
All we need now is a sticky bean and a cot....I'm going with the "who needs all that !!!! anyway" approach to kids:D:D:D

thanks for that link Nunny:D:D

We don't have a spare room.... and no chance any future baby will be able to share with DS as he's a teenager. BUT we are planning to get a bigger house next year :)

Hi Mishka, sorry to hear about your knee issue. I had a double arthroscopy last June, so had to take a little break for that, but it was only one month out of trying, and i had not waited beforehand, but then it only took 6 weeks between me seeing the first doc and having the op.

Keep us up to date and have some fun in your break, there is no need to stop it all ;)

On the room thing, we have a spare room and will not get it ready until i get pg, but that is because the room is there and we still use it for visitors, so that is that for now. Not superstitious so go for it :)

Sticky bean and baby dust to all :)

thanks all

I did think that maybe if we had it ready and then anything happened it would make it harder..... then again when we lost our 1st baby, it wasnt baby stuff that set me off, it was other seeminly random things...

I was going with green and purple stars theme... 1st baby had gingerbreadmen/people as a theme, and I just dont feel right using the same theme again...
Alos thought that maybe i would just make some small accessory things rather than full on decorating....like some padded stars, or wall hangings etc....

I get excited and then I get a bit scared about what if i make all these things for something that never happens.... but positive things/sticks happen to positive people who do lots of the mclovin' :)

I can't plan ahead. I usually love to be oragnised, but when it comes to babies I become super irrational and won't do anything. I was 38 weeks pregnant when I bought my carseat. LO was 6 weeks before I bought a pram, and 8 weeks before I bought a cot. I only have current size clothes. I've bought OPKs and pregnancy tests, but other than that I won't buy anything till at least 30+ weeks pregnant. LO doesn't have a room of his own, I'm planning on keeping him (and any other babies) in with me till 2 years.

I wish I could make things though. A lady on another thread makes some really nice things for her baby. I've got stuff to pass down, from my Mum, Gran and Great Gran. Wish I could make something to pass on.

Mishka look after yourself and come back soon.
As for the notes (who started that), I use sticky notes on my desktop and I have a control journal. Has schedules in it, medical information, my temping charts, emergency numbers cleaning hints, decluttering lists and a mini planner for specific occassions. Have a seperate one for christmas too...comes out in August every year:o
And the room-Ive just moved ds into his own room and plan to move his toddler bed out of our room as soon as my garage is empty of friends stored stuff.

Did anyone have an answer to my earlier question re the cbfm please?
