Hey confuzzled, no I don't mind you asking - I'll talk to anyone about anything!! My main business that I want to take up full time is wedding planning. I have a steady trickle of clients but it's just not enough to take the plunge. I love it but it's hard work!! Problem is I've had to go back to work full time so I can't really concentrate as much as I should on it (although i do spend time on it when I'm at work!!) the hope is when I am on maternity leave I can knuckle down a bit - I started it 3 years ago when on maternity leave with Ollie.
I also have 2 flats which I rent out. Was thinking of getting some more and becoming a bit like Sarah Beeny but I'm a bit scared of having all my eggs in one basket and tennants can be a pain! Although I have to say the two families I have at the moment are fab:T

Kindofagilr - listening to my sister I wish I worked for the Inland Revenue too!! Admittedly she doesn't get paid that much but she works flexi time, gets loads of holidays and extra perks hmmmm maybe a career change from marketing is in order??

Snuggles - I like your principles not paying for the licence fee, i wish we could do that but we're too addicted, I'll watch anything if it's moving:rotfl:When we were renovating our first house we got loads done and then OH decided to get Sky put in and we did nothing after that :rotfl:

Catw0man - big, big hugs hope you are feeling a bit better soon xx

Polkadot - what a busy bee you were yesterday, puts us all to shame!

Leopard Lady - loving your strength of character, I can't even stop myself eating chocolate. Will make that BFP when it comes all the sweeter:D

Looks like another day at work with not much to do .... and I have a pile of things to do at home which is so frustrating!!!!

Oooohhh, Twinklie - they all look lovely, I think I'd go for No 80 or Fairfield. Happy choosing and hope you have a fab time!

Thats why Ive stuck it out lol, Ive been here since 1998, the pay is ok (just over £1000 a month) but flexi is good, leave allowance is good, the pension is good

And the part time options are great, I am hoepfully going to go to 3 days a week, and then when babies are at school you can work part time term time, so you work however many hours a day you want and you get the school holidays off (and you still get annual leave lol)

Lucky, lucky you!! I wish I worked part time again, I hate not having any time with Ollie. Company I work for now said in my intervie 'Do you have any kids' 'Do you want any more kids' 'We don't want someone working for us who is going to leave and have kids' and 'We got rid of the last guy and we'll get rid of you if it doesn't work out'
His bark is worse than is bite and it has been a lovely company to work for but I'm not sure how much he really meant it so have been saving every penny I can in case he tries to get rid of me if I get pregnant or won't allow me to go back part time:mad:
  • Wow - that does sound good, Kindofagilr. My place aren't too bad - they'll pay me half pay, as well as the stat. pay until the 9 months is up (well, so long as they don't make me redundant first...), but I do like the sound of the Inland Revenue!
;) Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky' ;)

Hi all, 3dpo here and I'm convinced FF is officially mental, its changed my ov day again, so I'm now your exact 2ww buddy confuzzled

As for ML allowances, we get 6 months full pay here and then 3 months SMP then we can have 3 months unpaid if we want. But if I take more than 6 months it will cost us so much money that its not even an option. Still, got to get a sticky bean first...
Never argue with an idiot, he just brings you down to his level and beats you with experience.

hey jacq, that is highly illegal for them to say such things and you would have no trouble taking them to court if they did fire you for becoming pregnant!

Oh well, i get loads for ml if i can hold out for it here, university, good for support, bad pay for the rest of the time :)

The sun is looking gorgeous outside my office, hurry up lunch time :)

Got married on the 26th April 08!!!!!!!:j:T

Bumpy Bean was due 20th Nov 2010, born 15th Nov :j:j:T
  • LL - The problem always is trying to prove these things. I'm really quite nervous about when I announce my pregnancy at work, as my manager won't be there to help stand up for me - I wouldn't be at all surprised if I'm put at risk of redundancy at some point before starting leave, and they will make darn sure that there's no mention of my pregnancy and it's all just an unfortunate coincidence...
