Trying For a Baby III

Hi Moneyangel,
they do say if you're temping orally it can be erratic so try temping down there instead. For a temp to be accurate aswell it must be taken at EXACTLY the same time every day and before you get up. So if you've had to get up for anyrthing like loo etc then this will have an affect as will broken sleep. So if you've had any problems sleeping and are waking during the night this will also have an effect. The slightest little thing that may differ during your nights sleep will cause the temps to vary. That's why unless you have the perfect sleep pattern and are disciplined enough to wake at same day every day to temp it can be very confusing.0 -
well this weekend is the weekend that DH and I start fully fledged on the SMEP plan.
We're aiming for twice this weekend, have monday tuesday off and then every day for the whole of next weekend, unless my OPK's tell me something else...
Been reviewing my charts on FF and one of my cycles has shown me as having a 9 day luteal phase.....which is PANTS!
I've been taking a multi vit everyday plus folic acid, and the vit is listed as 2.0mg vit b6. Should I be taking a high dose of this in a seperate supplement?Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Hi CAFCGirl,
Be careful about the vit b6 supplements as too much of it is very bad for you, forget what exactly but quite alot came up on tinternet! 9 days is within normal so shouldn't cause a problem, if you're concerned though speak to your gp because they can give progesterone supplement ususally in pecessary form to lengthen it if she felt it was a problem. SMEP is every other day until you get you positive on opk's then it's every day for 3 days then 1 off and 1 more for luck! We're starting it tonight for this month. I think they say every other day is best as produces better results from OH rather than every day.
I just logged my CBFM results on my ff chart and as I was doing it the following useful bit on temping came up for those of you temping here's what it says:
What factors influence my basal body temperature?
There are certain factors that can influence your basal body temperature. These should be noted in the notes section of Fertility Friend or checked on the checklist on the data entry page.
These factors will usually not make charting and chart analysis impossible, especially if they occur only rarely, though it may be more challenging. In most cases, even when these factors apply on an ongoing basis, they will not skew your data so much that reading the chart is impossible. It is important to make a note of the factors, however to help with the interpretation of the chart. The following factors may influence your BBT:- fever
- illness and infections (even those that do not produce a fever)
- cold, sore throat
- drugs and medications
- alcohol (especially in large quantities, though all alcohol consumption should be recorded)
- smoking (if you smoke, you should consider quitting before you are even pregnant)
- emotional stress
- physical stress
- excitement
- sleep disturbances (insomnia, night-waking, upsetting dreams, poor sleep)
- change in waking time
- jet lag
- travel
- change of climate
- use of electric blanket
- change of room temperature
- recently discontinuing birth control pills
- breastfeeding

I'm setting myself up for a big fall I feel but I have an awful taste in my mouth...been unable to drink 2 cups of tea this morning that I wanted until I tasted/smelt it. I also feel sick but think thats down the the dia woo woo thing. And I could quite happily rip OH's head off and he's not even done anything....yet! :rotfl:

thanks becs...
I read online that vit b6 supplements helps to increase luteal phase, and that it should be 14 days, anything under 10 is potentially an issue..... i generally never see my gp especially after the "advice" i was given after m/c.
Unfortunately with our SMEP i kinda follow it but dont because during the week with my hours of work its too difficult to follow it directly to the letter, hence twice this weekend, and then 2 days off and then every day, i only work a 4 day week but its incredibly long days.... so im in bed abour an hour after coming home and dh is busy with the dog etc.....Wealth is not measured by currency0 -

Afternoon all, so sorry to hear about all the bad news and Catwoman and Scotsgirl take care of yourselves and have lots of cuddles from OHs x
I however have good news, not on the TTC front but I have surrogate babies for the next few months to take my mind of it, OHs mums cat died giving birth the other day and has left behind 4 wee orphans the wee black one unfortunatly didnt make it thru the night but the other 3 are fit and healthy wrapped up in a blanket with a hot water bottle behind me. They need fed special milk every hour from a syringe for the next 6 weeks until they can open their eyes and start on some solids and on day 3 OH and I are totally shattered lol theres some pics here on my bebo for anyone who wants to see, theyr no bigger than hamsters!

On the TTC side of things, waking ever hour is going to do nothing for my temping or BD'ing but I got a appointment for the 26th to get my bloods taken (Finally!) and some lovely sedatives because Im one of the worst most nervous people my doctors seen apparently! I knew I was bad but I didnt think I was THAT bad lol0 -
