this swine flu is getting a lot more scary. i've only 2 weeks left at work and i'm glad. when peeps are sick or kids they tend to come to trafford centre, to feel better... madness
i bet a lot of people do that though. ignore the advise and go out.
any hoo. quick visit and i need to pass the laptop back to my friend.
bye for now'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
ah there u are! so you are being induced a week early, you just control your GD with diet don't you?
It's going OK, had a few high readings again after breakfast the last few days so might have to up to 10 units of insulin from Monday if tomorrow's reading is higher than 7.8 (today was 7.7 but I think my sugars were really low to begin with as I got up really late!)
I've been reading about inducing labour and it seems that the only reason it could turn into a section is because the cervix is still too thick so have been looking into ways of thinning my cervix in preparation. I think I'll make a start at 36 weeks on it and then hopefully I'll either go into labour myself by 37 weeks or at least my cervix will be thin enough for me to go when I'm induced.
Is it wrong for me to hope like mad I have this baby early..38/39 weeks so me,hubby and the kids get to spend time on our own getting to know the new arrival without my dad being around? Ive told him my due date is 4th November,so when he books a flight back from Spain to see us..hoping he books it for around that date so with abit of luck will be too late. That may sound rotten to some people but it's a situation that causes us nothing but a great deal of stress and upset. I didn't lie about my due date with that specific purpose in mind btw..my mum died last year on the same date my due date falls on (freaky I know) but thought It be best to keep that quiet.
So...what ideas are there to try that thin the cervix and when can you start doing it?love my little man he is amazing :j0 -

Back again...
been trying to read the paper and when I got to Martins column he was talking about Childcare vouchers. Now I've been really struggling to figure out if the vouchers or tax credits leave me better off each week but couldn't really get a straight answer from tax credit people, just got more confused.
Anyway, Martin mentioned the following website which works it all out for you. Looks like there is only £12 monthly difference for me but may help someone else to make sure they are getting the best deal.

Woohoo finally caught up,although Ive forgotten most of what I was gonna say though.
Tink- best of luck, hope everything goes ok with you and FIL xx
Tia- won't be for much longer, keep smilling x
Elle- I don't believe Ive said it yet..congratulations on finally having little Rhys homw with you where he belongs..he is a cutie, the pics are lovely xx
GISI- yeah this other pram looks gorgeous and has lots of extras with it and even with all the extras is £100 cheaper than what we paid for the icandy and carseat. This one is second hand though but you wouldn't know it to look at it,Ive seen about 8 pics of it,of all the different bits and its immaculate. Should I be worried about the carseat though? Are 2nd hand carseats a big 'don't do it'!!? Guess with the money difference between the 2 prams I could buy a brand new car seat for it. Im going to see it at 5pm..hope I can decide then which bloody pram I want!!!!love my little man he is amazing :j0 -
If I decide to buy the M&P, I'll either try to get the shop to buy back off me (do you think they would..it's totally unused! or put it on Ebay as a buy it now.love my little man he is amazing :j0

helen - re thinning the cervix - I think I've read that it's the prostglandins that do this. They can be found in Evening Primose Capsules which you take orally and insert into your foof. It's obviously in sperm - so plenty of sex and BJ's if you can handle it
Then the usual curry, pineapple and long walks to get things going.
I've got a 2nd hand car seat as it came with the travel system - some people will use them if they know that they've not been in an accident and others won't.
I saw an incandy cherry at boot sale today for £70 and a gorgeous Silver Cross pram/pushchair for £120 but they were still there at end.
Def say sell on eBay if that's what you decide.
