On reusable nappies - we plan to use them. They are all bought and the first half dozen have been pre-washed. We got them through the nappy lady, and she will refund any unwashed, unused ones within a month of baby's birth if they aren't what we wanted for any reason, hence why we haven't prewashed them all. Should hopefully know in about 5-6 weeks whether we'll be getting on with them!

On neutral clothes - we haven't had any problems buying clothes in neutral colours, as we don't know the gender either. Most of ours have come from the mini mode range at Boots, but have also seen lots of neutrals in most of the other baby shops I've been in. All ours are in white or beige, with patterns though, so maybe if you are looking for bold primary colours its harder. You could though always buy plain white ones and dye them if you want bright reds, yellows and greens?

On the scan issue - I suspect if a 12 week dating scan has been cancelled because an earlier viability scan has been done, then the slot has been given to another mum, and turning up and bursting into tears may well not change anything but just end up upsetting you. The thing to remember is that NHS scans aren't done for mum's enjoyment (even though we all love seeing our babies on the screen) but to fulfil a medical purpose. If the dates are known from the earlier scan there isn't a medical reason to do another one. Pretending to have a medical problem (not that anyone here has suggested that) or lying about whether you've had an earlier scan, just means that another mum has to wait even longer for her dating scan than she otherwise would, and there have been a few mums on here who have posted that they haven't had their dating scans until around 15 weeks due to backlogs. If the 12 week scan is a nuchal test, or part of the combined test that's different, as these are time sensitive, but I personally would feel bad about taking up an NHS slot I didn't need and depriving another mum of it, when it is so easy and relatively inexpensive to get a private scan if all you want is to see the baby. This is just my personal opinion though, but coloured from having read stories in the past of women who haven't been able to get scans at the EPAU for several days following severe bleeding, because other women have pretended to have issues to get to see their own babies early, and my own experience in my first pregnancy of having a problem at 17 weeks (so out of time for an EPAU scan) and having to be scanned on the labour ward, and discover I had had a mmc because all the slots in the regular scanning department were filled for the next 3 weeks. Knowing how emotionally difficult that was for me, I would now never do anything which might even possibly cause another mum to go through the same thing.

my sis is buying it for us. but it goes up to a toodler age. it can be used as a rocking chair as they get older.
thought there are ones alot more expensive
thought it was better than a bouncer for £30 that lasts maybe 6 months

    ooh i missed a troll!!

    .
No you didn't miss a troll. You missed someone posting because they felt strongly about something. Seems on this forum if you disagree with peeps you are a troll. Sorry about my earlier post but I'm afraid the issue is close to home and I struggle with it. I realised it wasn't right to drag this thread down so I removed it but please don't call me a troll. I know I am one of a number who have posted similar things Tigsteroonie but I'm not them. I'm just someone who probably would be pregnant by now if my fella hadn't run off and made someone else pregnant instead. icon9.gif I wish you well with the remainder of your pregnancy.

    Apology accepted.

I referred to you as a "pet troll" because such people follow me around and disrupt the conversational flow, regardless of which thread I am in. I did not mean troll in the nasty sense.

Time for (yet another) food break, I reckon :D

Sat here with tissue up each nostril as they are pouring. I can't decide which is orse being blocked up or runny. When i have one i wish i had the other. paracemol kicking in a bit i think. Shame i can't take sudafed. Ds is being really good i am afraid he has been having to entertain himself but i just dragged myself out of bed to make him his lunch. It's so hard being ill when you have kids hubby acts like he has the plaque when he is ill and never gets out his pit, moans if i don't bring him enough cuppas etc he doesn't know how lucky he is i almost never take to my bed and have myself and ds to look after. but expected me to look after him when he is poorly who looks after me?

Thanks for the apology - the reason you got called a troll is because you followed someone onto this thread and posted when you didn't need to.

We are here to support everyone through whatever they are going through - we try not to judge each other even if we don't particularly agree with things they do or say. Personally, if I don't agree with something then I don't post a reply.

Sorry for what has happened to you - hopefully you will find someone soon and be joining us for a gossip.
