So,just contact the hospital where I gave birth then? That ok for my DD but I had DS at home, how would I go about getting my notes then then?

Not too sure but presuming the midwife worked out of a hospital, then your notes should be at the hospital there. It would be the hospital you had your scans etc at as they would keep notes.
I was surprised when I had my consultant appointment in May and out she came with my notes from DD in 1996. Big dusty things as thick as the argos catalouge! No computer records in those days:rolleyes:

Thanks Csh, I'll write to the hospital then.

Aless- if you're around just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about your mum, I know exactly how it feels (my mum died 10 months ago)

love my little man he is amazing :j
  • Just looked at a menu for someone's birthday dinner online and now I fancy some really naughty stuff! I cannot wait for some nice baked camembert after baby is born, ideally with a nice cold glass of vino! I know I could have it now if I really wanted to, but to me it's not worth the risk. I can wait another 12 weeks for it!

I could also eat a Wagamamas right now, but can't have that as the nearest one to us is 30 miles away. Can you tell I'm feeling better? I think the anti-biotics have kicked in as I suddenly feel tons brighter and not sick.

  • Get well vibes to baby Tia! Tia def. ask about expressing - Liam was given 2 formula top-ups before I was advise to start expressing - these were given to him by syrigne and cup so that he didn't get confused, and the EBM was fed to him by syringe too!

Suzy - as the labour vibes arn't working, I am sending full on eviction vibes to your little 'un. Oh, and I was wearing heals throughout my preg including on my last day in work, 3 days before Liam was born :)

Harley - thanks for asking - he's doing good. Sleeps and feeds well, but has been a it of a grump today. I don't think he enjoyed the emergancy feed I had to do in the car earlier, or the ready prepared formula - Oops!

Beanie - Sorry, but Liam just seems too ickle to be off the list - a month would be grand!

  • Thanks Jillie- I just feel like someone has flicked a switch and I feel vaguely normal again! I'm about to water the garden and do some ironing which is unheard of, particularly on a Friday night!

    What's everyone else up to? x x

Aless- So sorry to hear about your mum
Carla and Tia - Congrats and Tia hopefully baby will not have to stay in scbu long.
Got my 28 week consultant appointment on 20th where I get to discuss the ?? trial of labour that has been written in my notes. I have been told by a friend who had a vbac in my hospital that you cannot have a water birth, go to the home from home birthing suites and you will be constantly monitored ie be confined to bed for the whole of labour. If this is true then I am gonna tell my consultant he can stick the ?? trial of labour where the sun don't shine and book me in for an elective cs!! Do you reckon this is me being a bit hormonal (can't tell anymore) cos I just can't see the point in getting a vbac if you can't be even a little involved in the proceedings!!
    Coming soon............

i get a bit like that.
i was worried last week as to me, i was very unprepared for baby arriving. but as i got so much sorted last weekend and this week i feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. prob helped by finishing work as well.

so far in a week with help from my mum (she's a star!!) we have
    -ordered and received pram/pushchair
-painted kitchen from top tp bottom
-got moses basket (thanks to a fab friend)
    -got more outfits for baby
-sorted flooring for downsatirs - being fitted 19aug
-got wallpaper stripper to do our room
-had massive clearout of our room for baby
-sorted guy to replace our gutters
-soretd guy to paint the back of house

i think now in a week or so we will be totally ready

    still need to
    -replace rotten floorboard in kitchen
    -remove carpet from sitting room
    -strip wallpaper
    -paint our room
-buy the paint for our room
-paint sitting room before flooring is done
    -buy new moses basket mattress
-buy another box of newborn nappies (larger size)
-pack mine and baby's bag for hospital
-sort baby bath and changing mat

sounds a lot that we need to do especially with DH working but i can do painting when he's at work.

cant wait till its all done. will feel like a new house!! at least having the mortgage break has helped us not only get things for baby but also get the house sorted as well.

    I'm nearly there too Jillie.

Cant believe you are planning on painting though. I did nursery at about 26 weeks and was absolutely shattered. Really hurt my back and bottom of bump all that bending down and stretching (gently) up for the cutting in. Please take it easy, don't climb ladders unless someone is with you and take lots of breaks. Sorry, still a worrier.

    I still have to:
    Put stickers up
buy sheets, moses basket mattress, coming home outfit, socks, bibs, blankets (all of which mum and dad are coming up to assist with tomorrow)
wash more clothes that I have been given
wait for delivery of lounge venetian blind then help dad put it up.
Check car seat is in properly (mate fitted it in yesterday but seems to wobble a bit)
    pack hospital bag
fix nursery door (won't close and no idea why)

God, I can't believe that's all I have left to do.
That and raise the mattress to try to stop my heartburn. In fact, I'm off to do that now otherwise I'll forget and wake up at 3am cursing for not doing it.
