anyone know the answer to this one...........................

I'm going on ML in just over 4 weeks (in case you didn't already know :p)
If I was to stay working for my current employer I would be entitled to 19 days annual leave as this is what I have left until March 2010.

I'm not handing my notice in but will be changing employer BEFORE the baby is born (so that I get SMP) - I won't get my P45 from my old employer as they are still paying my SMP so will fill in a P46 for my new employer.

As I've not handed my notice in yet, do you think I should still get the 19 days leave from my current employer? Even though I will be (hopefully) employed by someone else (but not working for them) from the week after my ML starts.

Where does the time go?

Yes you do have to be a bit careul with freecycle i am not a snob but i am now an expert in postcodes and the type of area and houses where things may have come from. I went to collect a pushchair once from a lady who had said it was a mamas and papas travel system in great condtion only used for so many months but if only i had looked up the postcode. It was one of the roughest areas i have ever been to in my life. the pushchair was from the 70's and only fit for the tip and it was covered in dried food and snot and staines lucky for me it was huge and would never have fit in my car so i was very polite and left it.

In responding i am always polite say please and thank you and i never give to the first person and never give to the same person all the time. People do seem to just give to the first person who responds so you do have to be quick but this lady i am going to today put this on her post which i will do from now on.

Fair Offer Policy: I agree to take a period of time to see what responses I get before deciding who to give item(s) to. This gives members on Daily Digest, or those who don't have continual access to the Internet a fair chance to reply.

Oh remembered i have had a really good travel cot as well the lady said she only used it once on holiday and it really is is as new condition.

technically yes, BUT if you did take them all now then they would be able to deduct the time owed back to them from your last pay packet or ask for cash to be paid back to them in liu of the time off

That's a good idea elastigirl, next time I'm giving stuff away I'll do that.

Glam, surely they should give you the leave either as leave or as accrued pay?

Glam - I would think your AL should be calculated pro-rata until the date you formally change employers. I know it's not the answer you want, but that seems fair!

Ah pants that was what I thought! I'm just trying to find ways to finish earlier! Might see if I can do a ton of overtime over the weekend so that in my last 2 weeks I could just do 4 days a week and take 1 day unpaid!

I can't believe I wanted to work right up to the birth!

I wonder if I would be entitled to any annual leave from my new employer as technically I will be employed by them from August this year  but not starting until May/June 2010. I wouldn't be able to take them though!

Glam - some places have policies about accruing leave while on ML
