Quick question if dont mind are the wrap slings, are they hard to put on because thats the only thing i am worried about with them ,was looking at both sorts yesterday and i thought the same thing the sling for me and the baby carrier for the oh, but then i was worried i would not do it up right and drop the baby !!!
if you go for a stretchy fabric like the fleece one you can tie it on then but baby in so no dropping
Mines not stretchy and I've not tried Ed in it yet but you sort of half tie it before putting him in and you can do it sat down.
I practiced on a teddy before I put Chris in it tho :) If you had any trouble you can pop down to a sling meet for help, they is usually one of each type of sling there and people let you have a go of theirs to see what suits you.

csh, that is one cute car! And I'm usually sizist when it comes to cars (I H8 Corsa's)

EA, glad it has arrived safe and sound, but don't try daily, wait a week and try again hun. Then remember to only use it occasionally :D If I knew where to upload sound files I'd let you hear my lil lady at 10 weeks, very swooshy and echoy, but lets you know what to listen for. Hmmm... facebook???

Fitzio, just eat a banana, much nicer :D

Nothing is helping my relfux, may actually try milk even though milk is yucky yucky gadz!

Packed my bags, and then my boots stretchy pants turned up so just got them to shove in. Dh was poking fun at me ironing the pair of PJ's I've worn, but they fit in better ironed! Got RLT and peppermint tea bags too. Just my handbag to sort out on Wed night with change, make up, hair brush etc (stuff that would normally be in there anyway).

I am so hot too, keep standing outside to cool down but it's not helping, sitting with the ceiling fan on, kids are chittering and I'm for stripping off! :rotfl:

EA - lol, enjoy the epilator while you still can! doubt you will be able to use it past 20 wks or so, as I find you need to have a really good look at what you're doing to avoid massive pain...I did it for a few weeks and then gave up b/c I'm a wuss (but I've never waxed either).

It's because it has Quinine in it which supposedly can help leg cramps. But everywhere on the web says not to use this during pregnancy!!! Although surely the midwife would know best. Maybe it's only a low dose in tonic water. And it's only Schwepps tonic water that has it.

Not sure whether I should buy it. Might hold off and try other things.
    hmm...
I do have a friend that got prescribed something, possibly crampex

Heard of this but think its a bit of an old wives tale. Think the idea is it gives you a 'clear out' and kick starts things, but like everything else, baby will only come when its ready :D

It gives you really bad diarrhoea and the cramps from that can trigger labour contractions, but it's not pleasant. You can end up dehydrated with severe runs and not even go into labour anyway, I wouldn't.

I wouldnt do the caster oil thing, it can pass through to your baby and make them pass meconium in their waters, which can be very dangerous for them.

Quick update on my Standard Life healthcare saga, I politely made my case to the next person up the chain and reminded them that if Standard Life had "accidently" misinformed the press that either they should correctly update the press or that i would be happy to do so.

I also politely mentioned how easy it would be to get out of this situation for them as all i would need is the use of the private room in a NHS hospital after my section which is of no great cost to them compared with the amount of time and effort that is currently being used on them trying to argue it out with me.

I've told them my sections been moved forward and that i'd appreciate it if i could speak to someone senior enough to actually make a decision on my case. I've said i'd appreciate it if someone could actually take the time to consider my case in isolation rather than having different people calling me to quote the policy over and over again.

So now she's gone away, is speaking to a few people and will come back to me tomorrow morning, I'm not backing down that easily so surely they can see that just paying for it and getting rid of me is the best option....

    oh well, we shall see!
