nancmat Sod work if your poorly go home yours and babies health is more important. I was lucky never really had to have much time off whilst pregnant at work but the other girl in office was really suffering and she wouldnt go home they never appreciated it and she ended up running herself into the ground and being signed off for two weeks. :-):jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0

Hi Xmas
Its a birth pool in a box regular with all the bits and pieces (electric pumps for inflating/deflating and getting rid of water afterwards which I really wanted - didn't fancy OH with lots of buckets in our first few hours with LO). £50 for 5 weeks hire and £16 delivery. Was very chuffed. Am very much a water baby myself (I train lifeguards in my spare time and seem to live at our pool) so it just seems natural to me to have a water birth. Could have had one at the midwife led care unit (not seen the place til the 15th Aug) but there is only one and if its being used, tough. I hope being at home means I am more likely to be able to use it.
Why do my posts always end up being really long (and prob boring)!
Xmas, from memory you are due before me, fingers crossed its all we hope and please let me know how you get on xxx
ETA Only just before me - 5 days before me but I am assuming mine will be late as its my first, that way I won't be fed up waiting for another 2 weeks! My baby girl :kisses3: September 09 :heartsmil0 -

Hi Hypno. I'm in Wigan. And am an old 35. This is my second. I had DS just before i was 30. And my body most definately took to being pregnant better with him. Although the killer heartburn has been the same with both.0

Morning all
How were weekends, I did post at wkend but had 4d it was amazing but made me feel faint all the way through ha ha, I'm defo on team pink eekk
Suffering with v bad headache behind left eye all weekend and feel sick, had paracetamol but made no difference.. wana go home to bed, but too busy at work boo x
If you feel crap then go home!
But you see I would stay at work cos I don't get paid for being off sick so wouldn't take my own advice!Ooooh Nancmat! You are confusing me. Another one with a scan picture as an avatar!!! That's you, Xmas, NMS and MBM!! And liking the pink sig too! xx
I thought that too! Very confusing now!
Nanc - glad your scan went well. I get overwhelmed at the scans - it's so amazing to think a little person is growing in there!Charlton_Taz wrote: »I'm based in Reading (so close-ish to Windsor!!) and I'm 31....haven't posted much so far as usually too busy with work and the thread goes too quickly.....but might have more of a chance in the next few weeks to post as boss has gone on holiday for 3 weeks and has left me sod all to do!!
Yay post more! I liek having lots of people to talk to! I'm in work but taking it easy - just spent ages showing someone how to do one of my 'monthly tasks' she did it last month and has all the instructions but have successfully managed to waste a morning doing that! Oh and now it's lunch time how convenient!
Just rang up to check aqua-natal on but have been told to ring back at 1pm - as local MW takes the session you have to ring up and check it's on. Now that I've finally got around to going it's bound to be off
Oh well, if it is I will be very naughty and forget to tell work it's off and just go home to help OH prep for his interview tomorrow :shhh:
Lots of labour vibes to those that need them!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
thats the same one as i have i got only thing is I need to buy a liner and the water pump as i bought it off a friend for £30 and she didnt bother with all the extras so i will have to spend another £100 to get everything unless OH's parents can find there pool pump to empty it for me. i will be on the second floor of the house so buckets aint really an option for me either.
I wanted my birth to be calm and relaxed as well after two horendous hospital births were i did most of it on my own it was so isolating.
I think i will probaly go early but sods law says i will be late as first birth came smack on due date and second one was 5 wks early. i will deffo let all you ladies know once everything is started and keep you updated if im upto it. i can honestly say i am really looking forward to this birth im not a bit scared or worried about it which i think is half the battle.
Goodluck with your birth chick lets hope it is relaxing and event free for you :-) xx:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -
Quite right Glam. I have 101 things to do at work, but my leg wouldn't move this morning so thought "sod it"!
I have a team of 10 and I haven't even started the handover to the person taking over from me as they are still being held back in their own job to do stuff. I have made it clear to my boss that we don't have much time, so it's their own fault if they don't get cracking.
In addition to the handover and general tidying up, my boss is also saying "I like the way you do this and the other Team Leaders don't produce reports like that. Can you train them before you go?". I am obviously flattered, but it's getting a bit stressful trying to still manage 10 people, do daily reports, put together some sort of package and train different people within the next 3 weeks. And the third week, the new person taking over is on annual leave, so I only have 2 weeks for that bit!!
Sorry, that turned into a right rant didn't it! Off for a bath now to try and ease my poor calf muscle.0
