We bought a tommee tippee mointor when i had ds and it was rubbish. We could never get a good signal and we hardly used them. Our next door neighbours had one and all they could pick up was someone else a few doors down singing to their baby lol I Will get it out again and have another try this time around as the babies room won't be next to ours.
    This is my signature!
  • What?! Next you'll be telling me 3 packs of mini cheddars and a custard slice is not a nutritional meal!

Quick question for those that have already had kids - do I actually need a baby monitor for when LO goes into it's own room? Our room is next to the nursery and our house is open plan so I'm guessing I could hear any cries pretty well. What do you all think? x

Hi, we live in a bungalow and I didn't bother with monitors for baby No. 3, as we can hear a baby cry from whichever room we are in! I would guess if you are going to spending lots of time either in the garden or anywhere where it would be hard to hear baby, it might be worth getting some cheap ones for reassurance, but if not then I wouldn't bother!

Just re-read my post and not sure if it really makes that much sense (though I know what I meant :p) think its time for me to get my bump to bed!

We got told yesterday our baby girl was measuring upper end of scale and 2lb13 how can i work out tough birth weight from this?

    Hiya Nanc

It depends how far gone you are i would presume your heading for your third trimester if your not already there, if so bubs would put on roughly 1/2 lb a week between now and birth so just add it up :-)

Thanks tia & flis re. glucose test.

flis i don't have mine til the 24th week so i'm surprised you've already had yours, wonder why mine is so late!

I had mine early as my booking in blood test showed my glucose levels were really high and I've been very tired and thirsty. Although, hopefully, as I haven't heard anything it was all clear. They wouldn't normally do it until later, so don't worry!

Wishing all of you lovely ladies and your beans a lovely day.

My computer isn't working properly, but all the nonemergency slots at the clinic are full today so we're booked in for tomorrow. If I don't get on again I'll update you when I get a chance. Woken at 3am by a contraction so intense I thought I might force her out on the spot, but nothing comparable since. This stubborn little girl is coming out one way or the other in the next 48 hours. Weird to think this is the last day I will be pregnant with this Bellyfrog.

  • Ooh SS how exciting that you know it's definitely tomorrow! Try and take it really easy today and get as much rest as possible.

Back to work today after nearly a week off for me- I so do not feel like it. Have woken up with a horrid headache and sick feeling. Will see how I go, can always leave early if I feel really pants. I really hope it doesn't develop into flu as I did tea for my Grandparents yesterday and would hate to give it to them :(.

    Happy Monday everyone.

    Morning ladies.

SJ - Triggles and Niknak both had baby boys (search EDD to see updated list). SS is going in for induction tomorrow. Lots of ladies are hormonal and tearful! NMS posted photos of her baby Liam. Can't think of anything else really. Hope you had a nice weekend.

Well, I have called in sick today. :o
Had hardly any sleep due to the pain in my leg and yelping every time I turned. It has seized up during the night and I can't put any pressure on it. I dare say it will ease off after a few hours, but just going to take it easy and have a warm bath and do some stretches. They can do without me for 1 day!
