Just thought I would join you all on this thread, ive just found out on friday that Im expecting my second child, I got a little boy already whos four, im still a bit shocked but happy...

Anyway no doubt I will be speaking to you all soon, good luck everyone who is about to give birth xx

Ok I just did a calc on the hmrc website, and for a combined wage of 30k we would get £756 a year for the first year, and £378 a year once baby is one, so thats £14.50 a week going down to £7.26, pretty carp really, doesnt even matter if the baby is in childcare or not

Hi All

Thought I would pop in and introduce myself. I tend to frequent the OS boards or the special occasion one. I found out yesterday that Im expecting my second child. I already have a 5 year old little boy named Benjamin and all of us ( me, boyfriend, and ben) are landed about the new arrival. Estimated to be about 8 weeks along and have my booking in consultation on Friday. Look forward to meeting you all.

Yay, welcome Sammy and the other newbies. So lovely to see so many 2010 EDDs on the list now.

Managed to make it through my morning at work and now we are off to see Harry Potter in a bit. I figure I might have half a chance of staying awake if we go in the day- I am so having a big popcorn all to myself.

Glam- get yourself off home if you're feeling poorly. It's not worth trying to stick it out at work- get yourself home, get the duvet and lie in front of the TV.

I am so confused about how being on Mat Leave will affect tax credits etc.....need to get my head round it as only 33 days left at work :j:j:j (seven weeks minus two days holiday to take).

congrats kentmum and sammy-kaye, brought my 1st xmas pressie today !!! Also was just wondering does anyone know the chances of our baby getting my oh's adhd !! He had it quite bad when he was young and there is still traits of it in him now also his brother had it, not really sure of his mums history as she was adopted. So just wondering if anyone knows thanks

OMG! Am in total shock!!

Was due to meet one of the girls from my NCT class for lunch today and when I hadn't heard from her, dropped her a quick text to see if she was OK. Turned out she'd had the baby! 2 1/2 weeks early. We'd been talking at class yesterday and she said she hoped she'd finish the course... and said I might not make it til my planned ML date - both of which I laughed off. First babies for both of us so no probs!:rolleyes::o

Fantastic news of course but a bit sobering for the rest of us.:eek:
