I'd heard that about eye exams as well during pregnancy, that it's better to wait. So I'll be going in probably in a few weeks or so instead. Sent DH in to get his today though, while I still only have a toddler to keep track of. Morning ladies.
Skinty - hope your little girl settles down a bit soon. I guess every baby is different, and everyone here is looking forward to finding out what theirs will be like! Keep posting on here as it's nice to hear what we might expect!
NMS - good luck for today! You have probably left already, so look forward to hearing from you at some point, hopefully with your baby boy.
I think we need to buy some more nappies too. Currently have Pampers, 54 Size 1s and 81 Size 2s. Plus the Huggies starter pack - not sure how much is in there. Probably need more Size 1s I think.
GISI - enjoy your break (even if it is broken up by going in tomorrow!).
I am back to work today after a week off on holiday. Going in late though as I have midwife appointment this morning. Starting to get a bit worried about my swelling. My ankles/feet were really bad again yesterday even though I didn't do much, and my hands/fingers were really bad overnight with the joint pain. Kept waking up shouting ouch when I moved my hand, and it kept waking DH in a panic so he is shattered! It was the first time I had noticed they were a bit swolen too. Will definitely mention it to her, but she will no doubt say it's quite normal!0 -
Bleary morning hello to everyone.
Nobody here's had more than a couple of hours of broken sleep. My pelvis has started clicking whenever I move, and I was turning every ten minutes or so to try and get comfortable and apparently making the most pathetic pain noises ever while doing it. Poor Husband was up and trying to decide whether I was sleeping through contractions or just regular pain, but at one point he put his foot on my foot and mine's so swollen and sore I about hit the ceiling.
He made an attempt to escape to the sofa but my sleeping self was distressed that he'd abandon me. We can't do this for another ten days.
So much to do, so little time to do it, and we both feel and look like the walking dead.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

How are you this morning SS? Have you got much on today? You must be getting a bit frustrated since you thought you would have your baby by now! x
ETA Ahhh - there you are. I thought it was unlike you to have posted!0 -
SS - sorry you're having quite a rough time of it right now - hope either you get a little relief and sleep or you just go into labour today so you can feel relatively normal again soon!MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Hugs to you SS. I am getting little enough sleep at the moment, so can only imagine it is going to get much worse. Hope things start moving for you soon. xx0

Hi Skinty
Have you posted pics yet? Can't recall having seen your lo yet.
On the sleeping thing, are you swaddling her? If so, you could try swaddling her in a cloth which you have kept next to your skin for a few hours, so she has the smell of you, as well as the feeling of security which being very tightly swaddled gives them. If you aren't, then its well worth a try. One of the reasons why they like to be held a lot in the early days is for security, but its not fab for mums who need their beauty sleep!0 -
Morning!
Well i made it through the weekend without any more bleeds so was able to have my baby shower on Saturday which was really good fun, a few friends really annoyed me by cancelling at the last minute which really got to me and ended up having a sob in the shower but i still had a lovely time, I got some really lovely presents and was just so pleased to be home for it rather than stuck in hospital!
Sunday we had a family BBQ, we do it every year on the 26th because my brother died 5 years ago and it would have been his birthday yesterday, bub is having his name as a middle name as well because i want our son to ask about the name and we can tell him all about the uncle he missed out on having. I was glad that bellyboy didn't decide to make his arrival yesterday because that would have been really hard for everyone.
So today, I'm off to my consultant appt, i find out if they're moving my c-section date and if i have to go back into hospital, I also get to fight my corner about getting the baby to stay with me after the c-section, wish me luck, i get the feeling i'm gonna need it.
Hope you're all well, i did try to have a catch up but can't remember half the things i wanted to say:
nms: good luck for today
skinty: I'm sure Lilia will settle soon enough, am sending her calm relaxing sleep-on-your-back vibes
Tink-She is lovely!
Beeniecat- what a nightmare he is, hope you're ok though.
Sorry for those i forgot, I just can't seem to remember half the things i want to right now.0 -
Good luck for today Hypno. Hope the consultant listens to you, or at least can offer a reasonable explanation to satisfy you in some way. Let us know how you get on later.
Off to get ready now. x0 -
Hypno - best of luck today. Hope everything gets sorted out for the best for you and baby! It's tough going up against the consultant - I always feel a bit like I'm talking back to my parents or something when I disagree with the consultant.
