nancmat - don't feel a failure! I think you've done really well to keep going as long as you have! I've been too scared to go at all since I got my BFP! Although I wasn't a seasoned runner anyway.

Triggles - every time I had anything to tell my mum she'd butt in first with "You're pregnant?!" So when I went round to tell her that I was in fact pregnant she did the same thing, then when I said well yes actually I am, she was like "oh I knew it! see I told you I knew!" But although she was right that time she had been wrong the previous 50 times she'd said it so she wasn't quite as clued up as she thought she was!!

Nancmat - you have spurred me into the exercise thing! I've lapsed so must do my step aerobics on wii fit and I must join an aquanatal class. God, 7 weeks is going to fly by!

Sarah - OH's mum is the same!

Sarah J - LOL! I suppose she figured if she kept asking, at SOME point you'd say yes!

Well that's it!! She was pretty much bound to get it right at some point! She thought she was so good guessing though! I'm glad it was funny though cos otherwise it might have taken the fun out of me being able to tell her that she was going to be a grandma!!

Nanc - could you do run/walk? You could then adjust the intervals of each according to how you feel on the day? That way you'll still get some more intense periods of exercise but it won't be too much... (have to say I gave up running early - more out of laziness than anything else. am really looking forward to getting back into it)
Good luck with 4d scan btw - we found that it was great for the face but was a bit more difficult on the sex as it was by 28wks quite crowded in there so the legs were crossed. But hope you get an answer that's a bit more reliable than some lady in a spa!

Nanc - forgot to say congrats on 27 weeks! :T

ML - We had normal scan yesterday and were able to see 'his bits' very clearly cos he had his legs WIDE OPEN!!! Wish we could have had the 4D to have seen the face a bit clearer but we still saw it and I reckon he will be spitting image of OH! (Lucky little sod! ;))

helen - glad you sold pram so quickly!

Right I'm going to be very good now and go and do some work - even though I have already handed everything over to other people so they have 3 weeks of doing it while I'm here. But I've still got odd bits to do plus a big piece of work that no-one else can really do.

Ahh thanks ladies, seriously cannot recommend aquanatal enough £4.60 a week but worth it, different exercises you can do yourself, helps with posture, tummy muscles etc..

I wish I could find an aquanatal class in my area, Leeds, but there aren't any. Well, I've found one but it's during the day (and I work) and it's also at a private gym so I'd have to be a member there to go (and I'm not!!)

  • I'd definitely recommend the yoga... useful for tips on getting the baby in the optimum position and also positions in stage 1/breathing. I'd probably say that yoga has been the most useful of the ante-natal classes I've been to (followed by NCT then hypnobirthing) Everything depends on the teacher though I reckon as others have had v different experiences
