Harley, glad swine flu man stayed at home, and well done with the vouchers (though it would have been better if you had been happy with the stuff the first time).

Why the heck am I watching Big Brother?!:mad:

And on the B&B site, there is drama! :rotfl: Someone been posting for 5 weeks, since she was 27 weeks that she is in early labour, yet today she is 29 weeks and still in early labour. When I pointed it out she wasn't wanted anymore!!! And supposedly she has 4 other children? So glad you girls are mature!!! (mostly :p:rotfl:)

    She must be dreadfully uncomfortable.

However, to give some sort of benefit of the doubt, is English her first language? The midwife told me I was in early labour about ten days ago, but she meant the stage before the first stage (also called latent in English?). It's pre-labour so far as I understand it: I'm getting painless BH and painful contractions for a couple of hours at a stretch a couple of times a day, but they're not regularising or painful *enough*. It might just be a weird language thing, although if she flounced and has four children already then maybe not :)

I worry about being misunderstood in German when I talk to the midwife. We've been compiling a list of vocab words and sentences that might come in useful:

Excuse me, I'd like my epidural now.
Put that scalpel down and step away from me.
I need to walk around, please.
    Is the baby ok?
Please don't wipe the vernix off yet.
My husband appears to have fainted. Could you drag him outside please?

    Stuff like that.

    *sniggers* Love the list!

Yes, english is her first language. She is just a troll. One day she lost her plug, next day her waters broke but she couldn't go to the hospital because they said not too (at 27 weeks), then her baby was too big, then too small...

MM, I'm watching ugly betty now, was waiting for it to come on, course soon as it did I needed a pee :D

    lol Sugar.

Think the expert has taken most unused applications off my laptop in the hope of speeding up the dinosaur. Got some picture editor app though so I'll give that a try tomorrow. Off to watch a bit of tv for a while, bubs is not enjoying being pressed up against the edge of the dining table and is giving me a thorough kicking.

    Hi All.

Not sure if this is the right, or even the best thread to post on, but myself and my partner are expecting our first child on the 14/01/2010 :)

I'm currently sat using the entitledto.co.uk website trying to get an idea of what extra support we maybe eligible to when baby is born.

I'm a little stuck on one of the questions, and was wondering if anyone here had been through it and knew how to answer some of the questions.

Basically, it asks if my partner is working, well if she is on maternity leave, she will be receiving maternity pay from her company, however she isn't technically attending work. Does anyone know how I should answer this question?

Appreciate any help, and if I'm in the wrong place, can someone point me in the right direction?

    .......Thanks!

Congratulations SGX. I'm afraid I would be confused with that as well. I imagine that if I am still employed and receiving maternity pay, then I would be classed as employed and working. But that's just my take on it, not definite.

Me and OH planned a weekend to York a few weeks ago but decided it was too far in the car and ended up going to Oban, which was just enough travelling for me (we're about 15miles from Edinburgh).
Oban was lovely but I was disappointed at not going to York again cos I love it there. However, reading that I'm glad we didn't go:o
Hope your back pain eased when you got home

Forgot to reply to you this morning CSH as I was in a rush! I didn't know you were in Scotland. What side of Edinburgh are you? I am in Lanarkshire. Only time I went to Oban, it was torrential rain when we got there, so we just had a picnic in the car and drove home again! lol Will go again eventually though. There are so many places in Scotland that I haven't visited yet.
