'Forgot' and 'can't remember' and 'what was I doing?' seem to be a pregnancy mantra.
Had my dinner but now want a sweet... hmmmm....
Hope Glam and EA got to see their bubas, and I hope Skinty and Tink are cuddling theirs.[/QUOTE]
Me too!
God, today is dragging! Still another 30 mins to go
This week is dragging! :OIf google doesn't know it, how should i?0 -
Ooh sending labour vibes niknak!!
Caitlyn is 11 days old now and it already feels like she's always been here! I'm so excited for all you who are due to give birth imminently - hope to hear from skinty soon.
I took Caitlyn into work today to show her offI had her in the sling which got mixed reactions  Some said it was good as it keeps the baby close and must mimick how it felt in the womb. Others said 'why have you got her in a shopping bag?!' and 'ooh she looks all scrunched up in there - can she breathe?'. I told them that she falls asleep within minutes of being put in it so something must be right!
I'm aiming to make my first trip into town tomorrow, will see how it pans out!

Meant to go look in local charity shop at lunch, to see if i could get something else to read - save going to Asda and spending a fortune. But forgot. Forgot - seem to be saying that a lot recently.
I read that and really enjoyed it. I've just finished Jill Mansell's Rumour Has It which was really good. Need to find something else now though/
No news from Tink or Skinty? Hope they are both busy with their bundles of joy. Also can't wait to hear from EA and Glam on how their scans went today. Just seen EA's post that hers is tonight- will you still post after it though, even if it's late?
OH is cooking a roast tonight :j and I have treated myself to a mini bottle of Jacobs Creek so I'm going to have a glass of that with it too. I cannot wait, then I have a day off tomorrow so can chill out.
OH is doing a fab job on the nursery. Walls are all done, just need to do the ceiling, put up the border and build the rest of the furniture. It's looking lovely and I can't wait to see it finished. Walls are this colour which is more yellow in real life, then we have all white furniture and yellow gingham curtains.
Found out a bit more about KIT days today- I think they would be really good for me as things change so quickly in my job. The extra pennies would be good too as it would basically double my money week's when I do one, meaning an extra £100 or so a month if I spread them out through the leave.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

Yeah 9:15pm, but the lady on the phone said to get there for 9pm as they might be running early.
Apparently they always do early scans late at night, dont know why though.
Depending on how late it is i might come back on, but if not i will be on 2mrw morning.
Some of the ladies on TTC want to see pics so im making a new thread to put the pics on as some of the other ladies on TTC dont want to see them
Well i will be if all goes ok0 -
Just got back!!! LONG POST ALERT (but it's informative)
Well, my little man is def a little man! :j Saw his balls and willy!
Was so cute! Sonographer asked us of we knew so we said yes but would she double check!
He had hiccups and the sonographer just left the scanner in place so we could watch him! She showed us his face and OH is convinced he's got his nose. We could even see him open his eyes!
Got a picture but she did side profile not the gorgeous one she had of his face! Oh well, everything was fine, legs still a bit long - my Dad said 'You're better off with long legs than a fat !!!! - easier to push out' :rotfl:
The obstetric consultant today was fab! Answered loadsa questions for me so here's the deal
I'll be induced at 38 and a half weeks which will be around 11th September (7 weeks today )
I asked about the reasons why I might need a section and this is what he said.....................................................................................
More risk of baby getting distressed sooner
Failure to Progress
Cervix too thick (i thought this was only reason!)
Apparently they don't let you stay in labour for as long if you are diabetic due to the risks.
Saw Diabetic Consultant then, need to up my Insulin to 8 units in the morning and now need to keep an eye on lunchtime and if they stay as they are start taking 4 unit of Insulin at lunchtime too! That will be difficult in work but hey, it's gotta be done!
So now see Community MW in 2 weeks (33), back to diabetic clinic in 3 weeks (34) and another scan in 4 weeks (35) - then I will be seen at least weekly.
3 hours later and I'm home and shattered!!
Was driving home and saw a guy in a car and thought 'I know him from somewhere' - It was Ashley from Corrie - OH didn't believe me at first
Tea now and as I didn't have jacket spuds yday or day before I'm having them tonight!
No news from Tink or Skinty?!!!
Good luck later EA - You'll struggle to go 3 hours without needing a pee.
At my nuchal scan (13 weeks) my bladder was too full - I was bursting to pee for an hour and they couldn't scan because baby was all crammed in my womb!
NMS - 2 days to go, 2 more days in work!!! :j Bet you can't wait!!!!!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Hello
I just thought it was about time I actually posted instead of just lurking and wanted to say hello and thank you to everyone for all the advice that is posted on here, re feelings, what's normal, bargains and so much more!
I am 29 weeks with our first baby and very excited (although nervous).
Not sure if I'll have time to post but will try, got 6 weeks left at work which sometimes I can't wait for and others find that really scary!!
Before I go just thought I'd share: Dorothy Perkins are doing BOGOF on sale items and they have some maternity bits left, there are also 2 codes on the grabbit board (i think) for free delivery and 10% off - I just got 2 tops delivered for £4.50.
Also Tesco Direct have a sale on, yesterday I ordered lots of baby stuff for half price with free delivery. You probably already all know this or are a lot more discplined and sensible than me when it comes to buying stuff!
Anyway good luck to everyone and thanks again.0 -
*sniggers* Dildo scanner!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: EA, my bladder was empty at my first one 6 weeks and they managed fine. My bladder has been empty at every scan with this one.
Lil lady woke up in the bath so I am not so worried, got day care at 9.30am anyway so will ask then if it;'s normal for her to be so quiet at this point. I dunno if it is or not, DS1 was smaller and would be born on Saturday, plus I was on the monitor daily with him so never thought about him moving.
DH is just the same with DIY. It's always my fault for having these stupid ideas of fixing things and what not (he also has a can of nails and screws, do your OH's?). Usually I just prepare myself (imaginary valium) take him a cuppa and breath slowly.0 -
I tend to do the DIY in our house or get FIL or my Dad to do it when they come up!
OH never reads the isntructions - he throws them to me, I read them out, he says 'No way, that's wrong' so I get annoyed and just do it myself!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
