Ztd it runs nothing... itunes, iternet and microsoft works. No virus/malware/spyware/trojans, never had anything wrong with it and it had memory upgrades. But in answer to your quesion 5 ~ itunes, hp digital monitoring, AVG, BT help and volume :rotfl: Seriously its just really old and being run anything up to 12hours a day I would be knackered :D

    Defragment...

If that makes no difference, reinstall windows. That *always* speeds it up.

no, social services refuse to assess me. Even if they did, five years ago they told me that the only cooking help they provide is putting a ready meal in the microwave, and two years ago they told me they don't provide help with cooking at all, although I don't believe that, I think they were fobbing me off.

And now it turns out that sister and OH/carer/whatever he is have been talking about me and think I'm crazy and manipulating them. Really not looking forward to him coming back on Saturday.

What are they doing for you? What are you getting out of it?

Basically if you're just allowing them to be around you out of some "duty" concern, and they're slagging you off in return, you really need to be practicing the "Do not darken my doorstep ever again..." speech.

Approximately, but some versions of the OS had the service pack being put together before the main event was even released..

If you just hate Vista, if you buy certain versions of Vista, you have downgrade rights to XP.

Ahhh maybe I should just wait untill release and see what happens etc. I dont think I could downgrade unless I was talked through it step by step. Never atempted anything like that before

    Oh yes it is...

If you don't get a 64 bit version of windows, you will not be able to use more than 3 Gb of your memory.

 I never knew, is it bad its a gamer pc? I need a high spec graphic card because I long to play the sims3. After taking this machine appart there will be no way to upgrade the graphics card, well that me and lil bro can see anyways.

    Is this not 64bit?

Defrag makes no difference even weekly. That may be a problem its a packard bell pc (well the majority is) and I made a 'back up' disc at start up. However I have no ideas what said disc contains or if indeed it will work. I am to scared to try...

I totally agree Z, I'm gradually gteting to that realisation. I'm close to telling him he can't come back, but I doubt he'd listen. As for sister, she was supposed to be helping me to sort the flat out and get my life back on track, but a lot of it's just trying to change my lifestyle to what she thinks is 'normal'. If I fall out with her though it causes problems with my family and other mutual friends. After getting my weight under control I'm going to work with the health trainer on my family problems though, so hopefully things can change then.

They're not actually doing anything. OH/carer is good at talking me down when my mental health problems are bad, but that's all. Oh, and carrying the heavy bags from the car to the house. he wont do housework though apart from emptying the bins and doing his washing up. My sister used to cook for me until I spoke to the health trainer and realised it wasn't a good idea. She's been supposed to be cleaning my car but it's been two weeks and I'm still waiting.

Lou, what about running socks, the double layer ones? The outside layer rubs against the inner layer, instead of the whole sock rubbing against your foot. I had a huuuuuuuuge blister on my right foot after I got my new trainers, but with those and compeed, it doesn't happen now. :)
