I am the culprit who snaffled Leonies grains but never fear I shall post on here as soon as they grow large enough to harvest and pass them on .

    MADNESS !

Methinks a little flexability is needed.

Rules should be applied for a good reason and not just for the sake of it and because the Guides can !

Then please take this up with the abuse team at the address given in the Forum Rule that I quoted.

Ill pass on that squeaky !

Far better things to do than trade words with officialdom, theres enough of that in real life.

You might as well delete the whole thread as it is effectively SUNK !

    Hi there,

As Squeaky has said, please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com rather than comment about Guides who are only working to rules that we have given them. Unfortunately, while it is a great idea to give things away in principle, there are important reasons that we have to discourage members exchaning personal details.

    Kind Regards

I suppose I'll try to go the freecycle route then as I'm skint and don't really want to spend any money on ebay atm...except freecycle is only local to my area and this is something that can easily be posted if you send someone a SAE so really it's a pity I can't aim for a national audience.

It sounds like the sort of thing I'd love - I like those probiotic drinks but they are far too expensive for me.

Seems a huge shame that this stuff could be going to waste with other OSers who have an excess, but I can't see the powers that be changing their minds if they really don't want people exchanging personal details :(

The kefir has been very popular on my freecycle group so one of the ladies there has now set up a new group.

The aims are to share kefir grains (probably for the cost of a stamp?) and talk about benefits/recipes etc.

Its going to be a friendly group so she is interested in people joining who will make a contribution to the group rather than someone who just wants free grains and then leaves.

Its recommendation only at the moment I think, but if you say Shirley from freecycle told you then im sure you'll be in!

It will be a good way to continue with this subject and there's bound to be good info on how best to grow the grains for sharing.

I'm nothing to do with the group, I just got an invite through freecycle, but if anyone is interested, have a look at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Fermented-foods-UK/

Thanks so much Leonie I'm on there now (I'm Laura), she's approved me and I've emailed her to see about getting some grains to start off with, I can't wait!
