Let's start with the most entertaining first!
A letter from Debt Managers Ltd - one of Barclaycard's scumbags apparently - well 2 letters actually, and both equally entertaining:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
I quote
"NOTICE OF PROCEEDINGS
Despite our earlier correspondence relating to your debt due to BARCLAYCARD in the sum of £2908.52, we have not received payment in respect of this debt. Really? I'm sure I sent that spare £2908.52 from under the sofa to you! I haven't paid this because there is no valid CCA.
We therefore give notice that proceedings to recover this debt together with Solicitors fees and costs may be instigated. Oh no you won't!!! You would actually need to provide the original CCA to do this.
Details of any warrants obtained in relation to this debt may be supplied to credit referencing organisations and may impede your ability to obtain credit in the future." I'm fighting this all the way - you can download a data protection act complaint form and email it with correspondence relating to your complaint.
blah blah - you get the idea
Then a second letter - same scumbags
SETTLEMENT OPPORTUNITY:eek::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
We have negotiated a range of special settlement terms with a number of our clients, and your overdue account may qualify for a discount. How about 100% discount?
To take advantage of a possible - without prejudice - reduction, call us immediately. No thanks scumbags.
We will discuss any potential discount which may be available to you and confirm the date you expect to make the payment. And make idle threats etc etc
A dishonoured payment will make any offer void and the full balance become due immediately. Why would I bother?
Credit and debt card payments will secure the offer on the day of your call. I bet it would - only dodgier people are the Nigerian lottery win offers.
Settlement of this overdue account may help to improve your financial status. Who would have thought?

Anyway I've decided to ignore both letters and await the outcome of my complaint to the Ombudsman.
Still awaiting responses from Next Directory and Cahoot re: full and final offers. Crossing my fingers really but not holding out much hope. Cahoot have received nothing from us since October 2009 so hoping that the offer of almost 50% of the total due will be enough to sway them. Working a bank shift on Saturday which should net me around £255 (12 hours x £25.91 = 310.92 - tax)
More post to come............LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

A weird letter from Next Directory re: my request to reduce my monthly payment?
I've made no such request. However, I do like the next bit. "I would be grateful if you could sign and return in the prepaid envelope this reduced payment agreement, and credit agreement. Once this has been received your account will be amended to expect the reduced payment."
From memory Next produced an illegible credit agreement, hoping this will encourage them to accept my F&F although they refused my last F&F. Just wondering how stupid they really think I am?:pLBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Forgot the nice mail - I got £15 Love to Shop vouchers from Toluna:D
Also traded my clubcard vouchers today for pizza express deals. My 2 friends and I are planning to have a sex and the city night at the cinema. I'll be paying for dinner, someone else for the wine and the other person for the tickets. A truly luxurious night out for "free";)LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Hmm - wonder how many people fall for that next sign another agreement ploy. Surely most people who have requested a CCA (and not received one) would be clued up enough not to sign a new one, still they obviously felt it was worth the stamp.
Should have saved themselves that 35p:rotfl:A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Hi all been tackling a couple of niggling little letters I've been meaning to send..........
Hubby's wages are being changed from weekly to fortnightly so things are going to be tight this week as he has no salary this week but double next week:eek:.
Time to batten down the hatches! I have no bank money this week either but between us we should have around £900 to do us until next Friday:o (should add that this is overdraft so want to use as little as possible of this of course).LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Well here goes nothing..........
My hubby had 2 HBOS accounts one with a £500 od limit and one with £700:eek:. We successfully claimed back charges on the £500 one which basically repaid the overdraft:j. At that time we had a larger claim for bank charges and things were looking good as far as a payout was concerned............ and then the announcement came:eek::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
Anyway we had withdrawn the £500 which was paid for a refund of charges returning the account to £500od. The other account was £699.25 od (you are getting the picture I'm sure)a.
Basically our claim for charges amounts to excess of £2.5k. HBOS have continued to heap on charges and interest making the new total on the £500 limit one now £782.50 and the £700 od limit one is now a staggering £1147.54:eek::eek::eek:.
My cunning plan is to write to them asking them to consider the total amount which is actually due (minus the charges and interest added on top), and ask them to consider whether they would be willing to close both accounts down if I was willing to drop my request for charges to be repaid (pretty please):o. For around the same period that the charges were accrued we have been considered to be in financial hardship by another bank, and I plan to add this in (carefully worded of course!) hoping that this would encourage them to accept my offer given that I am likely to worthy of having my request heard by the FOS under the hardship clause.
Well as I said at the beginning, here goes nothing:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I will of course publish my begging letter in the vain hope that it proves successful:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free
