So, a few emails about the Gumtree stuff, but no cash has actually changed hands yet! :(

Having my cut price lunch with a friend from work tomorrow - Italian Ali who is so lovely and I'll miss her lots! Buy one main get the other for £2 in Ask Italian, which is really yummy. It does mean not a'lot of sleep for me tomorrow, as we are meeting at 1pm, but will make up for it by having an early night with a wee nightcap ;).

Have a few things to post tomorrow, possibly more as there are another 8 items finishing tonight, and another 4 tomorrow morning :D.

I really love eBay. Just hoping the majority is paid for by Monday so I can post it all in my lunch break before I leave London FOREVER! Have I mentioned that already?!:p

Working with the same moron from the other night, but its bank so I'll take it on the chin. Also my lovely friend is the Consultant on call tonight, so she has promised to try to get me down to Labour Ward at any opportunity ;). Not actually to do any work I hope:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. Although we do have triplets on their way in, which we may need to deliver, so I will have to scrub in for the section to assist. Easy. Once the babies are out we just get a good chat over the table:p.

Well my bank hasn't been paid, I'm hoping its just a day late and might arrive tomorrow. If not, I'm going to head over to the Bank office on Monday during my shift to find out why. That way if there is a problem I can sort it out before I bugg@r off! They underestimate my sneakiness I think. ;)

My Boss is trying to get me to do the bank shift tonight as contracted hours because of that shift I missed when BA cancelled my flight. I've written her a little note saying no thanks, I've already budgeted for the bank, and I know she will allocate me another shift instead (which of course I won't actually do) :D.

Nothing much more going on, lots of packing still to do so not too much vino tomorrow afternoon:p. Hubby's weekly wage should go in tomorrow so hoping to transfer a good chunk of that to the savings. Pay Day for me next week plus some more bank money due. All in all it's going ok. Just want to get the bank money they should have paid me sorted!

Also, had a chat with my lovely Consultant friend who tells me she will definately come to visit me in Australia in the next year so I don't feel too bad. Also, as it turns out, we would have had to have an even later dinner anyway, as she was asked to cover another clinic Wednesday afternoon! Still sad we didn't make our dinner date though - she is such good fun. We usually end up in the gay bars in Soho people watching:cool:.

Also, another friend of mine who is a Dr is moving back to Malaysia, and has offered to have us on holiday. She moves back in October, so we are going to keep in touch. She is going to Bali in February 2013, so we might head over and meet up for the weekend:j.

Get me! These, my friends, are the benefits of a debt free lifestyle to be.:money:

  • This thread is awesome, I am not in nearly as much debt as most people on here but I am starting a new job and saving to go spend 3-4 months in Australia next year on a working holiday, its the only thing that keeps me going at times, I really hope you enjoy living out there!

    Thanks Conisme,

Good luck with the saving! I absolutely loved Australia and can't wait to go back - just six weeks today at this very time I'll be enroute to Singapore :D.

Just qualified and completed for 2 Global Testmarket surveys, having usually getting screened out :D. Today is a good day!

I just netted 115 points for 2 surveys, and now only need 103 to redeem a cheque. My aim is to reach this before I go! The cheque takes weeks and weeks to come so will ask my Mother in Law to bank it for us (unless she burns it at the stake first).

That cheered me up a bit:j.

Have just spent £46 on the Boots website buying Banana Boat Factor 50 cream. This is fantastic stuff and its all half price at the moment in Boots (usually £12.49, now £6.24!). Believe it or not you can't get anything higher than SPF 30 in Oz:eek:, and I have a very fair child to look after. Have stocked up on 7 bottles, as my friend out there wants some too:D. Free delivery because I spent over £40:j. Plus advantage card points:j:j.

Her kids also want germoline for their spots, so I'm going to grab this with my advantage card points, and make out like its a gift from the fabulous Julie:D.

Just had a read of the email from the letting agent renting our house, re: terms and conditions etc. It seems he is now stating 8% in the agreement when he quoted me 6%. He thinks I'm stupid - boy did he get that wrong ;).

Lengthy email clarifying more than necessarily needs to be clarified. In my opinion, he asked for that.

A little hacked off (as though I wasn't already in a good mood:o). Just checked the online banking, still no bank money, and furthermore no hubby's wages:eek:. This sometimes happens with him, and usually they are in by the afternoon. Hoping this is the case, and will check again later on when I get up to go for lunch.

On a brighter note, the eBay is going rather well. Just another couple of Cole's t-shirts to finish in the next 30 minutes. Think they have reached their ceiling now, as only weirdos are up and bidding at this time surely?:(

Looks like, I will have to wait until Monday to follow up my bank money. That's a bit unfortunate, as I'm sure to be stressed out of my head on Monday what with doing a midnight "flit" on the sly, and trying hard to hide a rather large suitcase from my colleagues. Also have to head over and hand in the keys to my flat.

Had an email from someone wanting to collect the TV Saturday morning. Given that I'm at charge in work, this is going to be a tad tricky running away from work for ten minutes to sell a £12 TV:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. Never mind, I'm sure I'll manage. Hoping to get another few of the Gumtree things away over the weekend.

Still haven't received my deposit back from the last London house, really peed off about that, but my hormonal friend is onto that one (she just found out she's pregnant, which might explain why she has been a total ratbag).

    Hi

In terms of the suitcase there's left luggage at St Pancras International. I think it costs about £8 but King's X is on the Picadilly Line if you're heading to Heathrow for Glasgow.

How are you treating the remaining debts now? F & Fs, carry on from Oz or "forget" them. As you'll still own a house in the UK the latter could be a bit tricky.

    Hi Verbatim,

Nice to see you again ;).

It wouldn't be unusual but I don't get the suitcase comment? Never mind xx

The remaining debts are being wiped off F&Fs, and a few which won't budge will be continued from Oz. It gives me an excuse to hang about on MSE :D. I don't plan to forget them, but would like to settle them for as little as possible. I wrote to all my remaining creditors explaining that I was leaving the country and none of them have gotten back to me. Cheeky boys.

Not really sure how I am going to keep up to date with things though as I won't actually be getting the post. Therefore trying to get in place agreements before I leave.
