Don't want to go until November 2012 to give us time to get rid of all of our debts, sell our house and secure jobs etc. I think (don't know where I got this little gem from) the VISA is valid for a year, i.e I need to travel on it within one year of its issue.LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

OK, so its been a very reasonable night on my ward, so I've had a chance to do some proper research re: moving to Oz and the costs involved.
And they are huge!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Never mind, worth it in the long run I'm sure.
They stack up as follows:
English Proficiency Test (a must for nurses and midwives) $782 approx £508.30
Migration Skills Assessment by Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council - not clear whether I require the full or modified assessment but I've emailed them to clarify this.
Full $825 = £536.25
Modified $300 = £195
Of course I'm praying for the modified:cool:. They say I will receive a response usually within 10 days.
I need all of these before I can actually apply for the Visa with the costs as in the post 1230 above!
This will be very tough as well as trying to pay off our debts to save for this, and try to get some money saved to actually move with!!!:oLBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Just received an email from ASOS - confirmation of return and a refund of £25 winging its way to me. Decided I don't need yet another dress..........I need a VISA!:rotfl::rotfl:
I will have approx £600 to get back from my rent deposit when I leave London, so that can go towards our pot to take with us to Oz.
I can feel myself going into major Scrooge mode:money:.
Oh oh I've got a customer coming my way - must put my midwife's hat back on!!LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

If HBOS / iQor take our F&F offers we will need to cool it with the debt busting for a little while to get the money together to get the wheels in motion down under.
Shame, I was really getting into it! My keyboard was red hot:D.LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

In a real mood to get things in motion. Have just typed a letter and written a cheque for the final £233.65 due on the Santander loan.
One less debt.:j:j:j:j:j:j
By the time they receive the cheque and present it, my bank shift money will be in the bank to cover it (Thursday ~ £200 for a nightshift).
I have one bank payment for a nightshift due in next week too, so just off to see who I can make a F&F to that would be covered by that.
thank you too am looking at your full and final letters and going to tweek slightly for one of mine for hbos overdraft i wish to clear as again a lot of charges on it too, so it may be worth me doing thanks for that and keep doing what you are doing fab

Morning all - just having breakfast in preparation for nightshift again
Hubby didn't mention anything exciting in the post at home so I'm in limbo - all my battles have been fought so far. Never mind, I will soon have a whole week's post to revel in on Monday:j.
Plan is I have given my 2 F&Fs until 20th September to accept or otherwise - if they don't accept I'm going to use the money to book my English test for Oz:j.LBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free
