Should point out - I have offered them £308 in settlement - almost 50%. Very generous I think, given that they have had nothing from us for 18 months and have no valid CCA. I know many will say why offer so high when there is no valid CCA, but I'd like them to accept this and be done with it. The remainder of the loan was paid on time every month. I owe the money. At the moment Wescot have resumed the chase for this and are calling us 3 times a day (not that we are answering them ;)), and I'd just like to get rid.

If they don't accept this, they get nothing. And I jet off to Oz to let them stew for the rest of their days.

Have just cancelled the holiday planned for next year:money:. So now, to make a F&F to Barclaycard. Again, no CCA. But they did send me terms and conditions from 2009. The card was taken out in 1998.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm going low and I mean real low;). Considering starting at 20%. Waiting to be laughed out of town, but I won't go higher than 25%. It gets passed around an assortment of DCA's on a monthly basis. It's like Russian Roulette deciding which lucky blighter will get my letter.

Think the Barclaycard garbage is in London - will need to wait til I get back. Going straight to work from my flight tonight so it's likely to be a job for nightshift tomorrow night :D. I will be using my letter to Santander re: the old Cahoot loan as a template, as I like its tone.

Well another reasonable night in maternity. Made it to work and managed to stop at M&S to get a week's meals (with vouchers of course ;)) to do the next 5 nightshifts. Feeling very tired and a tad sick, but no time for sickness as I've just booked another 8 bank shifts on the next off duty :D.

My old Louis Vuitton coin purse sold on Ebay for £56.00 :D.

Next black blazer sold for £10.50. Have opened unpaid item cases for the ipod and Louis Vuitton cosmetic purse. I have a little brown Fendi pochette bag to sell (see where the debts came from?!), seems like I'm shedding designer goods faster than the speed of light!

Just transferred £56.13 from paypal to my bank account :D (and the LV purse has still to be paid for - even better!).

Just emailed "wanted down under" at the BBC to enquire re: applying to be on the next set of shows if they are still making them. Thought this would be a great opportunity to explore the basics before packing everything up and landing in Oz next November completely ignorant! I will keep you informed if I hear anything ;).

    Hi
Delurking - relatively new to this.Whats a CCA? I have S*nt*nder chasing me for fees charged to an overdraft which was created by them paying a DD I asked them not to. I have repaid the overdraft but not the fees .............. its a long story............but I am wondering now if I can say this is my F&F etc. etc. Is there a template letter somewhere on MSE?

Hi igamogam. A CCA is a consumer credit agreement - or when Julie says she is CCAing - she means requesting the agreement to see if they have it and see if its compliant.
Unfortunately an overdraft is not covered by a CCA.

There is a fairly basic F&F template on national debtline, but certainly customise it to your situation and add in a paragraph that the balance you owe relates primarily to fees or similar. http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/factsheet.php?page=24_full_and_final_settlement_offers

  • WOW!!!
A move to Oz is one heck of a motivation for kicking the back side of any debts.
It is something we have thought about and would love to do it. But OH broke his knee last year and has only just had surgery to repair the damage. He can hardly walk and certainly can't work atm, so all plans have been put aside for now. We literally plan from one week to the next and no further!
