Good luck with your PPI claims, I must look into it myself, seems it can be very worthwhile to do.

Also, good luck with your eBay - I have set myself a wee challenge of raising £200 in a month with it. So fingers crossed for both of us.

What will I do on my nightshift tonight with all my letters done??!!!

Have a few old textbooks to trade in with Amazon for a gift certificate to go towards christmas presents. Other than that I complained to Next Directory re: their courier, took 5 minutes to write a quick email and today received recorded delivery a £30 gift card saying how sorry they were :D. More towards the Christmas shopping :j:j

Found a letter with my old Cahoot loan - haven't CCA'd this yet so will spend some time doing this tonight. Also found a copy of the CCA for my old AA Visa - doesn't look quite right to me so will spend some time tonight looking at that against the criteria.;)

Any more suggestions to keep me busy? Ebay going well on target to beat £100 easily I am sure. Think I will do a car boot sale when I am home to get rid of all the ebay rejects:p.

Well traded in my books, and listed "secret diary of a call girl" on green metropolis.

Just waiting on my online banking to update to see what kind of state affairs I am in today:eek:

At last I found my letter from Santander I had a zero balance at the time I requested closure of the account!:j I have typed below a brief resume of its contents, and then the email I have chanced my arm and sent....... I sent a cheque for £25 yesterday to settle the remaining balance before they start adding even more charges!! I am hoping (in vain) that they will reconsider my email before cashing the £25 cheque!

Letter from 8th December 2010 from Santander in response to my request for closure of the account enclosing a cheque for overdrawn amount with the terms that if they cash the cheque they will waiver any pending charges. This is their response:

"Your account is at zero balance however there are outstanding charges on your account totalling £10. In order for us to complete your request please send us a cheque for £10 blah blah blah".

I responded with a covering letter enclosing my original request and highlighting the terms the account was settled on:D.

Then they kept banging on charges which left the account £475 OD with me fighting it all the way, and I ended up with a nice little default against the account on my credit record:mad:. Couldn't find my "evidence" letter until today, and yesterday responded to their letter refunding me £450 of the charges, by sending them a cheque for £25 to settle the balance and get the account closed.

Now I've found it, sent off this cheeky little email on the off chance I can get out of the £25.:(

    Dear Sirs,

I received your letter of 8th August 2011 yesterday (16th August), and sent a response by return enclosing a cheque for £25 for the remaining balance due. This was following Santander's agreement to refund £450 of the £475 snowballed charges which occured following your letter of 8th December 2010, in response to my original request to close the account.

The letter of 8th December 2010 (ref CL50/994/KK) confirms that my account balance was at zero, however refers to outstanding charges of £10 pending on the account. My original letter sent prior to this requesting closure of the account, enclosed a cheque for the overdrawn balance inc charges at the time with the "proviso" that if presented by Santander this would be full and final settlement of the account and that the pending £10 charges would be waived. As Santander did proceed to present the cheque, it was reasonable for me to assume that they did so in agreement with the terms of the covering letter.

It has taken since December 2010 with Santander continuing to pile on charges to the original £10 charges referred to in your letter of 8th December 2010, to continually fight my case for these charges to be refunded as they were not in line with the terms I set out when I settled the outstanding balance on the account. Santander managed to snowball charges on a debit balance caused only by Santander applying a £10 charge to a massive £475. As I have now found your letter of 8th December 2010 as my proof to confirm that my account was settled, and that the charges on charges were what caused this "debt" I wish to appeal the amount Santander have refunded of the charges. I don't see why you would refund £450 and leave £25 outstanding. Perhaps so you can carry on applying even further charges?

If you are unable to trace your correspondence of 8th December 2010, I would be happy to scan and send this to you. In the meantime I would ask that you reconsider the value of the refund, and also arrange to remove the default from my credit file which was only as a result of Santander applying charges to an overdrawn amount caused by a charge being levied against the terms I settled the account on.

I would appreciate your urgent response as I have already sent a cheque for £25, prior to finding my evidence of my zero balance.

Just checked the online banking - not bad £123.13 available. A bank payment for 1 x nightshift due in tomorrow for around £200, then DH wages on Friday around £450. Nothing much in the way of bills to come off, so should be just dandy until next week :D.

Looking forward to going home next Monday, but until then will just need to maintain command from my post in London:rotfl::rotfl:.

I will of course be back with more on tonight's nightshift:money:. See what I can dream up:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
