Sorry to hear of your bad luck so far Irishgenuis, but can't say the same I'm pleased to say...

Mine also arrived today with the voucher. Forgot to bring my laptop home so not tried the dongle itself out yet but so far have downloaded 2 of my 5 albums. Although both said they were "WMA" format, both have downloaded as MP3s! So at the very worst, I so far have £16 of DRM-free music for £10... So far, seems like a good honest deal to me...
  • Even better - I just sold the dongle on ebay for £19.99.

So after fees, I got paid about £8.00 to download 5 albums.

    Excellent :T:beer:
  • For everybody who is upset the files are WMA, here's a solution. Download this free utility from CNET which will convert WMA into MP3, according the the info given it can also convert protected songs purchased from itunes if you want to use them on other players or burn them as mp3 CDs:

    http://download.cnet.com/Free-Mp3-Wma-Converter/3000-2140_4-10442362.html?!!!!!mncol

I've not actually used the software yet, only downloaded it, but the site has given it 4/5.

    Hope this helps everybody:money:

Well, my dongle and voucher arrived about a week after purchase.

I got round to trying to download albums yesterday, the system accepted my voucher, i was able to choose 5 albums, but when i tried to check out i got an error message saying that "this order's country is not permitted to sell this product"

I've tried emailing them through thier contacts page - but just get mail not delivered replies (this might be beacuse the domain name is still registered to Comment Retail Services who went bust last year) and no answer on the helpline.

i called and emailed Micro-p the company selling the dongle & voucher, but they have yet to get any answer either.

    Anyone else having similar problems?

I bought the dongle last week and have had a good time on the datz site buying all sorts of stuff perhaps 30 albums in all but then i started getting the same message as you about wrong country.
My payment was taken by paypal but i've not managed to download them
emails to datz are bounced back or ignored

jlssuk, just to be clear - did you email Datz re the music not being available in your country? It is an issue for them not Micro-P, but the chances are it's dictated by the music publisher and you will not get that album via Datz whoever you contact.

Anyone(!), When I first went on to Datz at the weekend there was quite a large selection of albums at £0.99 (a few of which I also bought - it would have been a mistake to waste a "free album" on them!) I notice these had gone up £2.99 last night and are now £6.99. Was this an introductory offer for new members of Datz, or do the prices go up and down often and I was just lucky to see the £0.99 albums?
  • Well I had no trouble ordering it with the code. Hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow and then we'll see what happens.

I've had exactly the same problem and also had my email bounced back. I've found another email address (info@datz.com) and have emailed that, so we'll wait and see if I hear back, otherwise that's been a massive waste of £10.

What a shocking website as well by the way.

Yes, I downloaded 4 albums last night.

At first, I tried to purchase all 5 albums at once - only to get the 'soap' order country error.

I then tried them one by one and got 4 down. The one which I still get the error on is Blur Midlife (ironically the only one I chose by a British artist!).

I'd recommend using a free download manager to pull down each individual song, they will download a lot quicker and you don't need to sit there and supervise.

For Windows - Free Download Manager (I'm on Mac now, but presume this is still around)
    For Mac - Speed Download

One of the albums I got is in mp3 format, the other 3 in wma. The next step for me is to transfer the wma to a Windows machine and try to convert to mp3... then move back to Mac.

I'll have to give up on Blur and get another album - Datz don't answer the phone or email and I don't expect them to be around much longer.
