it is all above board they have been checked and its all legit

So you have entered your credit card details into an unsecured page? I'll steer clear for the time being, thanks.
  • Anyone here an expert on online security? The payment screen begins http://www.3dongle4free.co.uk/Sales/slscommerceorderpaymentprotxdirect.asp? etc (ie no https security), however if you right click on the payment window area and select properties (as the site advises) it shows the address URL as https://www.micro-p.com/sales/slsCommerceOrderPaymentProtx.aspx which I looks like it should be secure. Any thoughts?

I'm using Firefox and you have to view the FRAME properties to see this - why they can't make the whole page encrypted is beyond me.
Anyway, thanks for the pointers - my paranoia is now abating a little.
  • Any ideas on the card refusal?! anyone else had this problem?
  • I checked the Datz site and found only DRM files available for all the major artists. Searching for mp3 files brings up 2000+ artists most of which I've never heard of.
Found some interesting info in the FAQ:
    http://www.datz.com/help.html
    Q) Apple Macs compatible/ Are Apple Ipods compatible?
    A) I’m afraid not...
    Q) MP3s/WMAs, let’s talk compatibility?
    A) ...However you cannot copy these songs onto your portable media player because they are rights protected... note you will come across the same issue when converting WMA to MP3 in iTunes. Datz will deliver the license that governs the number of times that you can burn or transfer a track on download.
That's kinda put me off now, if I can't put the music on my iPod it somewhat defeats the point for me...

When I tried to sign up I got an error saying that the email could not be sent. I still haven't receive an email from them so I didn't get the code to get the discount. I phoned them up and they gave me the code over the phone. I've now ordered it however they appear to have no stock so I've no idea when it or the voucher for the free music will arrive :(

Hi, but sounds like it allows you to burn the tracks, so burn as an audio CD, then rip back to your PC, put on your Ipod! Simples.
